I finally finished Final Fantasy XIII. I'm going on to XIII-2 and it keeps crashing. I can't get past the first battle of Episode 2 Bresha Ruins (005 AF) no matter how many times I run it. I turned off Steam cloud to even get that far because it was crashing not just the game but the Steam app. When it started crashing right after the battle was completed at the beginning of Episode 2, I looked on line for a fix and came across NTCore 4GB patch. That didn't work. I've uninstalled the game several times. Started the game from the beginning several times rewriting over the first save. Also, starting a new save. It takes several times to have a section of the game actually save but if that was all it was doing then I'd be fine with it but I'm at a standstill at this point. I would prefer not to have to buy the game again for my PlayStation that I don't know if it still works and don't have a place at this time to set it up anyway.

Any help would be appreciated.

yep I've faced the same difficulties playing this game on PC as did the rest of the users on Steam, SE won't patch it AND won't give us a modern console remaster.. if you check the game's community tab on steam you'll see a post that addresses all the issues and fixes (there's a 4gb Patch Installation process that should make it smoother), but yeah it's a terrible port sadly...

Thanks. I tried the 4gb patch. it did nothing. I'll look for the post you mentioned in the Steam community. I found a couple posts but probably missed a few.

some people mentioned that it depends on your operating system as well, I guess the process between windows 10 and 11 are different, but yeah it didn't work for me either and got tired of the crashes so I just stopped playing it  good luck!
