Ooooh, I never thought of sticking around and stealing more! Should have gotten more Carbon Bangles too :hmmm:. Oh the enemy skill is a must. I don't tend to use them that much...I tend to use bolt/ice/fire etc more (even though stat-wise enemy skill is probably better).

ur probably not gonna be obsessing over every enemy skill but you might want to pick up flamethrower in the mythril cave and whitewind from the giant bird in the expanse between fort condor and junon. two very good skills.

and dude get yuffie wtf :amg:

Nah, I won't be obsessing over them. I'll get whatever I'm lucky enough to get without thinking along with one or two others that I remember about probably. White Wind is a pain in the arse though...all that manipulatin' about! I'll probably skip that considering cure-all pretty much does the same thing once All levels up a bit. My favourites are always Aqualung, Trine and...that one that does multiple elementals that I can't remember the name of.

magic breath

theres beta too but thats really difficult to pull off this early

Part 10: Seeing Red

http://youtu.be/3wN_q5VuIsM

Welcome one and all to another longer episode that will showcase just how dark this game can be. We actually save Aeris and gain a new character: Red! The only thing is that there's a boss to take out to help us along the way:

---------------------------------------------

Sample H0512 Strategy:

- Attack with Barret but no one else. The boss is in the back row and will take less damage anyway.
- Because of this, use magic with the others; both the healing and damaging kind.
- Limits breaks whenever you can.
- Don't bother killing the little helpers. They will only respawn at some point.

---------------------------------------------

Remember to pick up the Enemy Skill materia after you beat him and the story is done! It's yellow and in the tube that the boss/characters came out of.

What do you know, while trying to escape we meet the new president of Shinra who seems even more evil than the first! He's gonna rule the world through fear .

Other than that, it's time for a boss rush! 3 of them in a row in fact...

---------------------------------------------

Hundred Gunner Strategy:

- Physical attacks won't reach him except with Barret.
- Use bolt with whoever has it. Aeris would be preferable with her higher magic stat.
- Use limits whenever possible considering they hit at a range.
- This boss has pretty weak attacks so you shouldn't need to heal too often. Healing Wind is still there as a backup though.

---------------------------------------------

Heli Gunner Strategy:

- Same strategy as for the Hundred Gunner.
- Bolt, limits, long range weapons (Barret) only.
- His attacks are a wee bit stronger but nothing to worry about.

---------------------------------------------

Rufus and Dark Nation Strategy:

- Make sure Cloud has a Cure materia!!! He'll need it or you'll be running through your potions quickly.
- Attack the puma (Dark Nation) first. It can put up barriers and generally support Rufus so it's best to take it down first.
- Limits will be a godsend during this boss. Use them.
- Heal often! Cloud won't be able to stand too much damage.
- You could put Cloud in the back row to help with this battle. Limits will still deal good damage there.
- Once Dark Nation is gone, keep healed up and Rufus is a cinch. Especially with attack magic.

---------------------------------------------

Woooooo boy, that was a lot of bosses! Thanks for watching! We'll be finishing up Midgar next time with one final boss and a really epic cutscene/minigame combo. See you there! ;)

Part 11: The Great Escape

http://youtu.be/FmkrhUuhMY0

Hellos! We're finally gonna leave Midgar guys! This episode includes one of my favourite cinematics in the entire game: the great escape. I made sure to ramp the volume up for that part! ;)

Also, we play a quick minigame with some of the best music from the game; Popcorn anyone? There's a bit of an obstacle standing in our way at the very exit of Midgar though...

-------------------------------------

Motor Ball Strategy:

- Bolt is incredible. Use it :p.
- Limits breaks.
- This boss deals a tonne of damage at times, so make sure to keep everyone healed. Maybe Aeris is a good choice for Healing Wind?
- You start the battle in opposing row thanks to a back attack. Make sure to change your rows when you enter battle or preempt it before the battle starts.

-------------------------------------

We made it to the world map guys! Get used to this place...we'll be seeing it a lot! While we're out here, I show you how to get an incredible weapon for Barret for this point in the game: Atomic Scissors. Just watch out...this is a short range weapon so for the first time you'll need Barret in the front row during battles.

We also grab our first enemy skill: Matra Magic. This deals non-elemental damage to all enemies for only 8 MP! That's pretty good for early in the game :).

Thanks for watching! We'll enter Kalm next time for the beloved back story of Cloud's/Tifa's/Sephiroth's. It'll be 2 episodes long so...grab the popcorn ;).

Part 12: Keep Kalm

http://youtu.be/amtbtIRPGi4

Here it comes: the story in Kalm! I'll keep this brief because it's all about the story and if you haven't seen it yet then it'd just be pure spoilers.

As well as making it to the checkpoint of the story, there's also loads of new materia and weapons (including one that you can find in Kalm).

Thanks for watching! We'll finish up the story next time. Yay!

P.S. I changed the border a bit this time to include the arm in the top right. Is it too distracting? Do you prefer it to the old one? Give me a shout either way :).

--------------------------------------------

Part 13: At Sanity's End

http://youtu.be/X-Q7K-SVI7U

Considering so many people seem to despise this whole Kalm section, I thought I'd chuck up 2 episodes today to get it all out of the way.

This time around, our Sephy seems to be going ever so slightly batshit crazy, so it's time to see how that turns out!

Thanks for watching! Next time around we'll be heading on over to the chocobo ranch. I think we could do with some cheering up after that story, so be prepared for some sexy chicks putting on a performance. Leave some dollar bills in their cleavage or else!

P.S. Feedback is always appreciated. Most notably about the video border right now. Too distracting? More interesting? Gimme a shout if you have the time :). The Grinch

Nope, doesn't look distracting to me! But that's just me :lew: I haven't completely caught up yet, so I scrolled through the video to see the text etc, doesn't bother me. :D

Hmmm ok. I think I'll put the arm in randomly now and again lmao. Danke :monocle:.

-------------------------------------------------

Part 14: Secsi Chicks

http://youtu.be/qocnSkRAdoM

Hey all, let's actually make a start on our journey, huh? From Kalm we head on over to the chocobo ranch to see a rather raunchy performance by the birds themselves! This nabs us the Choco/Mog materia; our first summon! It doesn't do that much damage, but for early game it's pretty great. It can stop the enemies and if you're especially lucky (is it based on your luck stat?) fat chocobo may even make an appearance .

With a chocobo caught, we skip merrily past the Midgar Zolem (don't bother fighting this guy yet...) to see our first dungeon outside of Midgar: the Mythril Mines!

There's quite a bit to do here for such a small place. Make sure to grab the Long Range materia (a character can be put in the back row but still deal front row physical damage). This is a staple materia for any party imo. Also, you can equip your enemy skill materia and learn flamethrower (a pretty great fire spell for this point in the game). Both of these things are shown in the vid, naturally.

We'll just pretend the Turks don't show up. Even my favourite one (and a newcomer to the game): Elena. They're pretty useless here and are only around to tell us that they are here to get in our way. Not exactly the most evil or threatening enemy from within Shinra.

Fiiinally, we make it across the world map to Junon Harbor. Right outside is an enemy (Zenzalot or something? A giant bird.) who will teach you the White Wind enemy skill once you have the Manipulate materia. It's a good skill because it heals your party, but nothing cure all can't beat!

Thanks for watching! We'll be heading into Junon next time, ready to see what else Shinra is doing around the world ;).

Are you gonna get 100% on the parade for the double materia growth weapon?

Part 15: Time To Celebrate!

http://youtu.be/PZ0bNI7rNcU

Ok, so we have another long episode here. While I like to stick to around 20 minutes, this plays us through all of Junon and that whole Shinra celebration in one swoop. Sounds good to me! :)

So, like I said, we head into Junon Harbour first, where we meet our little Priscilla...and it seems like she's just gagging to be eaten.

---------------------------------------------

Bottomswell Strategy:

- Bolt is your best bet once again. Why break the pattern eh? ;)
- Use long range attacks too if you like. Magic will probably deal more damage right now though?
- The flamethrower enemy skill from the mythril mine is pretty great...though watch you mp.
- If a character is put in a bubble, then attack the bubble (press select to make sure you have the right target!) with any attack spell. Physical attacks won't pop it!
- As usual, use limit breaks and healing spells when you can/need to.

---------------------------------------------

After all this, we get our second summon materia: Shiva! Great at dealing ice damage to all enemies, as you might expect.

Next up, we use Mr Dolphin to take us up to the city above Junon and check out what it's like to be a soldier and celebrate a new president: Rufus!

Loads of minigames here along with a few cinematics scattered throughout. Gotta love it :). Do we grab the Force Stealer or do I butcher the whole thing up?

Finally, we head onto a Shinra ship and are taken out to sea, on our way to a stunning little town called Costa Del Sol.

Thanks for watching! We'll finish up the ship next time and check out the best town so far. I wonder if it will all run smoothly for our little party...?

Part 16: Birth Of Sunshine

http://youtu.be/cQ9UQo7M-8o

Happy New Year folks! Let's finish up the ship journey, shall we? It turns out that there's someone suspicious onboard (not us, I swear!). Could it be...Sephiroth?

---------------------------------------

Jenova Birth Strategy:

- This is the toughest boss so far. Keep on healing when your characters are down to half health. He can have 2 attacks per round and really deal some damage.
- Jenova can put your characters in Stop. There's no way I know of to stop this right now so just take it on the chin.
- Use both summons (Shiva and Choco/Mog). These will deal some decent damage.
- Use Flamethrower enemy skill. Also good damage.
- Otherwise, just heal and limits.

---------------------------------------

Woooop, amazing boss music there. Anyways, we also grab a weapon for a character we don't have (again) and earn our 3rd summon: Ifrit! Don't miss Ifrit 'cause I don't think you can get it once you leave that screen.

Sunny ol' Costa Del Sol! This place is stunning and one of my favourite towns and has some great materia if you haven't bought it already. Just don't bother with Seal imo. Waste of gil. Also: don't hit Red in the nose...he won't like it :s (though you should do it really :lew:).

Fiiinally, we head on over to the next "dungeon": Mt Corel.

Thanks for watching! We'll have a go at Mt Corel next time! It's so relaxing :).

Part 17: A Barret Hated

http://youtu.be/2LfTCKWTQ0Q

Welcome one and all to Mt Corel! This place is ever so relaxing and really calms you down after the tension about the Shinra ship.

Look out for the mystify materia (though it's nothing amazing) and a few other items along the way. Check out the optional 10 phoenix downs you can grab if you're a right git too!

As well as this route, we make it to Corel town...which really doesn't give us a warm welcome. Apparently, Barret is hated for "allowing" the mining town to be burnt to the ground by Shinra many years ago. In fact, it's his reason for joining Avalanche!

Oh, but the best thing in this episode is the introduction of the Golden Saucer! Check out the cinematic 'cause it was really stunning for its time.

Thanks for watching! If you don't have 3000 gil, make sure to fight/sell some stuff before carrying on...you're gonna need it in the amusement park ;).

Part 18: Saucy Cats

http://youtu.be/UGhLP3IfiJQ

New party member time! Cait Sith is a character whose limits are all based on luck. While he kicks things off with a slot machine that varies greatly (I think it can cause instant death to your party at worst?) it can be incredible. Think of Setzer from FF6. His other limit break will be a dice roll and the damage will be based on the outcome. I thought I'd go through this now 'cause we won't be using him, even if his strength and magic power are both decent.

Anyways, this means that we've made it to the Golden Saucer; the most fun place on Earth! Or y'know...Gaia or summat. We check out the speed, wonder and battle squares, all for story purposes. We'll be returning here later, which may be a good time to try a few minigames.

Of course, this game can't stay happy for long, even at the happiest place on the planet. Turns out that Barret has gone mad and started killing everyone so we've been sent to prison with him (go figure).

Nah, he hasn't really killed many people. I think the game is getting at his mate Dyne doing all the shooting.

-------------------------------------------

Dyne Strategy:

- You only have Barret, so keep healing whenever your health is around the halfway mark.
- Use limits a whole lot. It'll fill up really quick. Only Big Shot, mind...not Mind Blow.
- Dyne has at least two attacks per turn, so that's another reason to heal loads.
- I'd keep your mp for healing, so just attack physically if you want to risk it.

-------------------------------------------

And with Dyne gone (really left no impact with me because we barely knew him and it was a stupid reason to jump after all these years) we now need to escape Desert Prison (oh don't worry! It's not THAT Desert Prison). Looks like we need to win a good ol' boco race to escape, which is really fun the first few times.

Thanks for watching! We'll head on up to the Golden Saucer again next time and even earn a new summon materia! :)

P.S. Those bloody bandits! We've lost an incredible Fire Ring which we could have used later. Oh well...we'll have to try a different strategy for THAT boss now.

P.P.S. A bit more backstory between Dyne and Barret too. They were such god buds.

Part 19: KWEH!? YUFFIE!?

http://youtu.be/HmZB-u4FsDg

Hello all, here's the chocobo racing part in the Golden Saucer! It's all pretty easy so long as you press select at the beginning and go manual. Kick things off by holding circle to speed up and then don't use circle unless you have about half of your bar left. Remember to hold R1 and R2 together while not pressing circle to restore the bar slowly.

As well as this, we get our first new vehicle (if you don't count the boco): the buggy. This thing allows you to go over deserts and shallow rivers; you can still have battles but it moves quicker so you won't have as many.

Check out the forests in this area of the world map 'cause a mysterious ninja called Yuffie may be hiding in them. Yuffie is a great optional character who is great at attacking from the back row and has decent magic stats too. Check out the vid to see what to say during the dialogue branches :).

Next up we head into Gongaga Village and grab a new summon: Titan. This guy deals earth damage to all enemies. We also grabbed Ramuh the thunder God in the chocobo racing area /late.

Otherwise in this optional town, we meet the Turks again and take on...

----------------------------------------------

Reno and Rude Strategy:

- Take down our bald friend first. He's a bit of a healer.
- Use any spells and limits and you'll get through this battle.
- Keep yourself healed up too.
- Easy boss is done!

----------------------------------------------

Look out for the Deathblow materia nearby that takes your hit rate right down but every hit is like a critical if it does manage to hit. I don't bother with this one.

Who is this Zack they talk about? More on this later.

Thanks for watching! It looks like our buggy has broken down outside a new town . See you within ;).
