Does anyone have any recommendations on an easy way to get through the mines to get to Zodiark. I just got 3 game overs running around trying to find him. Also any tips on the battle itself would be appreciated.

I sympathize with you on this one, but it really depends on your level when you going through those mines ... if im not mistaken, once you get to the zodiark battle you should be able to run around and find a cave where there's a save crystal, so you can go back and forth with that ... i'm still trying to develop a technique on beating him ... wish i had telekenesis at this point, since he's flying regular physical attacks will not suffice, so magiks are the way to go with this guy .. just make sure your level is high enough and you have strong enough magiks to take care of him and his subbordinates at the same time ....

or is that with exodus ... you are talking about the zernethian caverns when you say mines right or the hinne mines?
 
get dark masks. they absorb his dark powers.

zodiark is not a flying enemy. regular melee weapons can be used on him.

if you're having that difficult of a time even getting to him, you need to be a few more levels stronger, my friend. i can understand, though. that section of the mines are nightmarish.
 
The last part of the battle where Zodiark is immune to physical then always casts Reflect is just a pain in the ***.
 
Yeah,Zodiark is brutal.I got him down pretty low and thought it was only a matter of minutes til he was down,but he gets hardcore after that.Got vanquished.And the trip to him is brutal as well.No saves anywhere convenient.I have demon shields and black masks to absorb his Darkgas,but he also has the aility to KO even with dark absorbing equipment.Keep fighting the good fight and be sure to post when you beat him!I'm about to go in for a second try.:)
 
I have been reading up on Zodiark stuff and i see alot of info on lifewicks. I thought they were just loot. Am i missing something or do they have some sort of effect in the battle?
 
Zodiark went doooown.... he actually isn't that difficult if you come in to the battle prepared. There are a few things you need. 1) Make sure you have atleast one opal ring but i would recommend two. 2) You must be able to absorb dark (even though you usually die anyway). and 3) Flare deals more damage then the other magiks. 4) Keep bubble belts on your characters and use arise when they go down. 5) I unleashed the biggest chain i could when his hp got to about 30%, then managed to knock a bit mor hp out of him before he became immune to physical damage. 6) After that its 4-5 hits of Flare and Zodiark is yours!

Honestly, the battles getting to him are way harder and more annoying then the battle itself. Hope these tips help. GOOD LUCK!
 
I just beat him last night,with pretty much the same strategy.It basically comes down to your ability to wait it out for his Magic Immunity to drop.I always kept dispelling his Reflect status instead of the Opal Ring,though.I remember how he had just a sliver of HP left,and his Magic Immunity went down,he wasn't reflecting,and as soon as my Flare spell started I knew it was over.And I agree about the trek just to get to him.No save crystal after all that way?But I was glad that they opened the shortcut from Zodiarks lair,cause I thought I was gonna have to take the long way round.Getting ambushed by Etems and Hecteyes is a nightmare.Congrats!
 
Yea that short cut was clutch! Even with the shortcut i came close to dieing on the way back after the defeat. How embarrasing would that be? I guess now its onto Yiazmat... 50 million hp, WOW
