I'm not sure how many of you upload videos to YouTube, but I've been having some issues with uploading videos this weekend. When uploading, a progress bar will start, essentially showing you how long it will take to upload. The thing is, the bar will move the entire length and finish, but it will say "error", but it does complete. When I look at my uploaded videos, it will say "failed (user aborted)", but I never did abort it. I clicked on it once and it then said it failed because the file wouldn't convert. Then I figured I'd send YouTube an e-mail with regards to why this is happening, and I can't find any kind of help anywhere on the site (aside from the community help forum for google, which it won't let me log into because I don't have a google account). -__-

So lets get the facts straight. I have 284 videos uploaded of the same file extension, so why won't these files convert now? The video itself doesn't violate the YouTube time limit or size limit, so that can't be the issue either. So I'm not sure how to go about solving this issue, seeing as how I can't find any means to contact YouTube and it will be too much of a pain in the ass to convert about 35 files to another file extension.

So what can I do to resolve this issue?

I find that sometimes I have the same issues and it could even be uploading for a while with no issues and then just stop without a reason and come up with an error message.

In this case I've gone down the bottom of the 'Video File Upload' page and clicked on 'Upload problems? Try without the progress bar', which is located under 'About uploading' at the bottom.

Sometimes this can make all the difference and so far this option has been working for me after the default uploader decides that it won't work.

Yeah, I get the random issue where a video wouldn't upload the first time, or upload without the description and such filled out. I tend to type long descriptions for most of my videos, so usually what I do is after I upload the video, I open a new window and go to my uploaded videos to make sure all the information was uploaded as well. If not, then I can simply go to the upload file page and copy and paste it to the uploaded video.

I've tried the upload without the progress bar 2 or 3 times and no luck. I do believe that it's possible that the video format just won't work anymore, seeing as how it's an uncommon video file type, but I haven't seen any YT update notification in at least a few weeks. So if it's something that changed, then it was a fast change that never informed anyone beforehand.

I guess I'll have to put my videos on hold for a while. Thanks a lot Kandy!

Edit: Nevermind, the videos seem to be uploading now. You can lock this thread if you want.
