Inasmuch as I know that this stuff is not reality but I cannot seem to do that especially with the shows that have Xanatos Gambits that go on in them. It seems like that are always manipulating and scheming and their plans always seem to go off without a hitch even seemingly inconvienient concidences are a part of the plan because the guy that planned it included in the plan since he somehow "knows" that was going to happen. I don't know whether to applaud this or just be plain pissed since that guy manipulated that guy into doing that thing since that was the thing that he wanted to do anyway. Who knows I amybe manipulating myself into doing the things that someone was getting me to do. My point is, what is the deal with Xanatos Gambits? It was fun in Gargoyles but now it just irritates to no apparent end now that there are some other shows that do it especially if that villain has that blasted Joker Immunity and is too popular to be killed off? Do they actually work in real life?

Interesting thread. I think these 'Xanatos Gambits' (had to Google the term, by the way) are the kinds of villains who drag me in to any kind of story. It's the ones who are so deceptive that not even their minions can second guess them, who make me think, "Bloody hell, I'm liking him <_<".
