And I don't mean orange chicken or fried dumplings...I mean REAL Asian cuisine.

Bird's Nest Soup that's actually made of bird saliva, fried beetles, fried rats, and fried...everything else of every animal body part. How about stinky tofu, sashimi, live octopus?

I won't. xD

To be fair, I'll probably take a bite and call it a day, because I don't want to violate the adage that to really immerse yourself in a culture, it is necessary to eat their food!

Um...I like oriental dishes, but from what kind of dishes you've described...no thanks. I know there's other oriental dishes that are extremely good (not sure if from Japan though) and I'd eat them, like bulgogi. =)

Honestly, I'd applaud you if you manage to take a bite of bird saliva and fried beetles...because I wouldn't have the guts to even take a bite of those.

Well i was in China and they had some weird stuff on the frying stands, ( i ate fried starfish, seahorse, lizard, beetle, and scorpion) but alot of the other food just had regular ingredients, so yes, i would and do.

One of my friend's is Chinese and whenever I crash at her house I eat Oriental stuff--but never any of that! >.< I'll stick to things with ingredients I know.

Given the chance, though, I'd probably try it. Just to say I did. Yum!

In a word no......although Id probably give some of it a try..... not into the whole bird saliva thing tho, I really can't stand spit makes me heave

I'l try MOST things once but they just sound....gross o_O

I've bin to chinese resteraunt and eaten lots of stuff there. Chicken claws, Octupi, these square turnip thing and shark fin. Was all very nice. Sushi does not tempt me though.
