What power would you want?

Well. Take a look at the poll and decide what you would want to have the power of. :)

I don't think this poll is terribly popular...

Void is better. You could shut anybody you want into nothingness *glances over at all of FF7 cast and Yiazmat* which would really be the best weapon of all. You could also use it to send viruses, famine, Cloud, computer bugs, Sephiroth, KFC, Yuffie, slavery, and Refia into the Void. Plus, you could send someone's brain, heart, and lungs into nothingness. Kewl.

I would like to rule the elements. Let's say it's raining or something, I could just click my fingers and it would stop.

Let's see...At first glance, Time Kompression would probably make you the most powerful, seeing as how you'd be absorbing the entirety of existence. I imagine the end result would be a genuine god. Not a demi-god like most Final Fantasy antagonists are trying to become; a true, "I Bend Reality to My Will" god who can make people kersplode by looking at them funny. Still, with all of existence absorbed into me, there wouldn't be a whole lot of fun to be had with my new Lovecraftian powers. No heads to explode, no galaxies to throw around like shurikens like in that one episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, no laws of physics to bend for the amusement of myself and others...I'd be a being so bored and omnipotent that I'd probably be forced to use my vast powers to initiate a second Big Bang and recreate time and space. Of course, I'd then have to wait billions upon billions of years for society to develop so I can present myself to them as a deity for them to worship. Then again, it'd probably be worth it if I could reshape reality however I see fit (FYI, it'd be a lot like our world is right now, except with a lot more giant robots and a lot less GameFAQs and warring elitist FF6 fanbrats/FF7 fannerds).

The Lifestream is more straightforward. You pretty much know exactly what you're going to get; godlike powers obtained by absorbing the strength in an entire planet. Nothing special as far as JRPG villains go, but not a bad deal by any means. You'd probably get the standard array of powers. Strength, limited reality warping, magical powers, etc. I imagine it'd be better for me as far as patience goes because I wouldn't have to wait for the universe to rebuild itself after I absorb it. Still, I wouldn't exactly be anything special. How many people have become a god in a video-game? I can do much better than demi-god. I've never been one to aim my sights so low. Besides, what would I do once I found out that pretty much every villain alive has also attained godhood? I'd feel awfully silly trying to brag about my omnipotence when there are several hundred other equally omnipotent people running around the universe. Added to that is that we really don't know how much power the Lifestream has...Sephiroth had only absorbed some of it by the time the party got there, so I'd probably be a lot stronger than he was at the end of FF7, but still.

The Warring Triad is pretty much the same deal. You get godly magical powers, and that's about it. So...what if the other guy tries to destroy me with something that's not magic? You know, like hundreds of soldiers equipped with automatic assault rifles whose bullets I probably couldn't dodge due to my godly powers pertaining to magic instead of physical reflexes. I can destroy cities with my Light of Judgment, but in modern day society, a nuke can accomplish pretty much the same thing. I wouldn't even be able to launch a full-scale war on the planet Earth. How lame is that? Once you take into consideration that using the Warring Triad at all involves seriously rearranging the structure of the Earth and invariably killing millions, I don't think the world powers would be too happy with me once all was said and done. Besides, the death of loved ones would undoubtedly steel the resolve of twelve young adventurers who'd be all too eager to somehow penetrate my impenetrable fortress-tower-thing and slay me.

The Void also sounds like a pretty safe bet. Unlimited power over the fabric of the universe and the ability to absorb anyone or anything I want into it? Sounds good. The power to erase parts of space altogether? Alright. An inevitable absorption into The Void brought about by my own insanity? Now I'm beginning to reconsider. The Void is a temporary fix for my need to obtain godlike power. Temporary because I'd eventually die as a result of it after absorbing everything else. Again, we're faced with the problem of there not being anything left after I'm done, except, this time, I'd be gone, too, so I couldn't use my control over space and time to bring everything back. In fact, that doesn't even seem to be a power of The Void. It can only get rid of stuff, which is rather lame when you think about it. However, it'd be pretty nifty for a while. For the record, the first things I'd get rid of would be GameFAQs message boards and annoyingly hardcore FF6 fanbrats.

The elements are way too cliche...so no. I'm more stylish than that.

Overall, I'd have to go with Time Kompression. Sure, I'd have to rebuild reality from scratch, but I'm sure I could find some sort of loophole to exploit so that I really don't have to wait (like, say, sending myself into a coma set to end in 10 billion years or whenever society re-emerges, or simply recreating an exact copy of the universe with everyone and everything in-tact).

I agree about GameFaqs, because with a big message board like that, the mods are jumping at every opportunity to ban people... which is how I ended up here. (You'll find this in a topic somewhere.) And I wouldn't worry about going insane and power hungry over the Void, because I could just make that part of my mind disappear. Yippee.
And the Void could tie in with the elements. Say you want it to snow? Make the Sun's energy disappear as it comes to earth until you want the climate to become warm again. To rain? No problem. Just remove gravity from a lake or something so that it rises up into the sky. Instant flash flood. Sunny weather? Easy. Remove clouds from the sky.
