Within Temptation

Within Temptation have been on the gothic scene since 1997 and recently Ive noticed them alot more. Ive only become a fan recently, but I have been blown away by what Ive heard. They are from the Netherlands and are taking the UK by storm.

Their latest album, "The Heart of Everything" is well worth a listen. The orcastrail pieces used are astounding and out of this world. I dont really listen to gothic rock, but my boyfriend mentioned he was going to see them this April, which sparked my interest and I listened to "Angels" from "The Silent Force." That was it, I was hooked. Sadly I cant see them as Manchester tickets are sold out, plus its a Wedneday when my fella and his mates are going.

Sharon den Adel is amazing on the vocals and has a beautiful voice. Try and give these guys a listen, they have a MySpace too if youre interested.

I too have only recently (about a year and a bit) gotten into Within Temptation and I really love these guys. Sadly, I haven't heard the newest album but it is on my birthday list in 3 weeks! XD

Love the vocals and the way the whole thing is put together so, yurp, these guys do rock! Although, I hate the fact that some people say that they're "copying" bands such as Evanescence and Nightwish to name a few.

Indeed, Ive heard them compared to Evanescence. Personally I think their much better and everyone sounds like someone esle at some point in music. I call it inspiration, not copying lol. But make sure you get their latest album, its worth it ^^

Any songs you'd recommened for me? I've only heard "What have you done now".

And, I really agree with you only the whole "sounding kinda like someone else at some point" thing. Take Trivium, as much as I love 'em, they do sound kinda too Metallica-ish now. I wish Mr Heafy went back to his "Ember to Inferno" and "Ascendancy" singing style...

Angels defo! Its a beautiful piece and is on their MySpace. Most of the songs I adore are on their lateest album. But The Silent Force is a great album also. Im trying to track down their older albums. But really anything you can get by them really.

hmmm well i cant say i have heard all their music but the ones i have heard are really good. I'm not really into gothic rock either but maybe now i am....who knows???

Their vocalists voice is really pretty, I was obsessed with "Our Farewell," for the longest time last year. Have they come out with new stuff, or are they touring?

"The Heart of Everything" is their latest album and at the moment they are still touring. My boyfriend went to see them last night and videoed Angels on his phone for me, bless him. He said they were amazing and will be seeing them again at the Download Festival this year.

I like listening to within Temptation i have the latest album and my favorite songs are "Our Solemn hour"and "All I need" those are my favs.I just recently started listening to within like a month ago and i have to say its great i just have to get the other albums now.

Ive been a within temptation fan for about a year - i love their songs - especially there latest work.

and i agree with Meik - Our solemn hour and Hand of sorrow are two of my favorites too
