As most of you know windows 7 came out a month ago.
I was one of the first people to upgrade to it, and I am still left with one thing to say about it. What is keeping everyone from upgrading.
I have tested out 5 areas of the OS and here is what I found.
Speed: 4 out of 5.
Crashes: What crashes? Yea 5 out of 5.
Space on the hard drive to operate: little just like XP. 4 out of 5
Compatibility: 5 out of 5
Security: Sadly enough it does better then Spyware Terminator. 5 out of 5

Speed: Windows 7 is able to process programs that I have seen XP, Vista, Linux, And Mac go real slow (Just like the DSL turtles.) I have a decent computer; well as an XP and a Vista it could not run epsxe, but as a Windows 7 it runs it like a champ.

Crashes: One month no crashes. I have even tried to force a crash and was thwarted. In other words you have to literately destroy the computer to make it crash.

Space: I have a 150 GB hard drive ok, will of that I can use 149.5 GB with is unlike vista where you were only allowed 140 GB.

Compatibility: With the ability to run XP programs like XP does this means all programs from 3.11 to windows 7 are able to be ran on Windows 7.

Security: Believe it or not my OS has blocked more viruses then my virus protection. Keep in mind I have the 3rd best virus protection right now.

With all of these factors factored in I have to give windows 7 a 4.99 out of 5.

:holyshit: Did I just give an OS that high of a score! I tend to be over critical over most programs in my computer so anything over a 4 is like super good.

I have to say if you need a reliable OS that can actually run stuff windows 7 is for you.

I use Windows 7 and I have noticed a slight improvement from Vista, but with all due respect, your post is a load of tripe.

Firstly the thing that's keeping people from upgrading is the fact that the slight improvement isn't worth paying [INSERT PRICE HERE] for.

Also there are MANY Linux distributions, so the fact that you've rated "Linux" the same as Windows 3.11 and Mac OS as even lower than that is ridiculous. There are plenty of Linux distributions which'll run reliably on old machines, how often can you say that about Windows? And there are plenty of people who'll vouch for Mac OS.:hmmm:

At the expense of sounding like I'm flaming you, you seem like a Windowsfag.

Just to reiterate. I like Windows 7; it's an improvement on Vista, definitely. Though it's not worth the money, imo.

For me the improvement is like going back to XP then getting what should have been the upgrade to it.
As for the mac and linux. Linux will make a bad install causing you to lose massive amounts of data that is why it was rated so low. Mac it only had stability over any windows which now that there is a windows that is more stable then it, that means there is no longer that small bridge of hope for it. I was being generious when I rated Mac. I was actually planning on rating it at a .1, but that is too low for even me.

Basically you don't have a clue what you're talking about. If people actually want to read reviews on operating systems they should look for legitimate ones likewise if you want to review an operating system (or anything else for that matter) at least have the sense to know what you're talking about.

They are all accurate in my books. An OS that installs correctly only 1 out of 10 times is a crappy OS. Also an OS that has almost no program support is also crappy. Windows 7 is not only stable, but also has the most working programs of any OS to date.

I like Windows 7. Windows 7 is pretty. Windows 7 is faster than Vista. Windows 7 is finally better than XP. Windows 7. Windows 7.... Windows.....7....

Okay, family guy finished!

But yeah, I tried it on a PC and tried my friends copy on my Mac for a while and I am impressed. It also seems the registry doesn't get all gunked up as fast. And thats always a good thing. (shudders... XP)

Edit.

Will I use it over Mac OS X? Um no, but my family has used Apple for years. All the software I need is on Mac.

The only software I can find for Windows that isn't on Mac OS X is Virus Protection programs and a bunch of games.
