Why wasn't released in the states?

yea why wasn't FFIII realesed in the states? but yea i have DS, and i was going to sell it but then i heard, and saw a preview for this game, and i was like, im keeping this. haha

Final Fantasy II wasn't released in the states either. Squaresoft probably felt it wouldn't sell very well, instead they tried to focus on the new SNES (-> Final Fantasy IV and Mystic Quest).

Up until now, the third installment was never ported or remade for any system, so logically we had to wait for the DS remake too.
