Why so slow o.O

I am currently doing the chocobo racing side quest and I have noticed something odd. While leveling up my blue and green chocobo's I would totally kick ass. With the green one even more so, but with the blue one I had a few issues. In the short track there is that area where time slows down and thus slows your chocobo down. Anyway I noticed that the green chocobo doesn't get slowed down and the blue one does. Any thoughts on to why this is, I have been wrapping my head around it trying to figure it out and coming up with nothing.

And I didn't put this in help because I dont really need help per-say just wondering if anyone noticed/has any thoughts on the matter.

This was the case for me as well. Oddly enough, the blue is supposed to be faster in water and the green in rougher terrain, but it seems to have an opposite effect. But yeah, I've had this same issue. Once you upgrade to the gold, it plows through both nicely. Generally what I did was sped up as I enter that watery part to maintain some momentum, which should help (that is if you control your own chocobo). So yeah, unfortunately you'll have to bear with it and get what you need done with the blue chocobo, then upgrade.

i always wondered about that. my question to you is do you always use one track or both? i use just the short track because for some strange reason if feels like my chocobos level up faster

I wonder if the computer chocobos have any special speed difference on the track also. Probally not but yeah it would be cool to know. I usally save my stanima until the end just for the finishing part. Helps a lot. Also I pick short just to get it over with faster.
