Do you mean in terms of design? Or in terms of abilities? Or in terms of both combined?
In terms of design:
Male - Kimahri - I just love his design, the blue fur and lion like face... A pretty unique character in the FF universe when you think about it. Something very hindu about him as well. I really appreciate this character.
Female - Yuna - Again, very much asian in design. I like the dress and arm things etc. Though the character herself didn't do much for me, I really appreciate the design of her costume from the original FFX.
In terms of abilities:
Male - Probably Auron - I liked his overdrives the best I think. I appreciate the idea of a man having a drink and then slashing his sword about.
Female - Probably Rikku - I enjoyed mixing items, though I never appreciated this ability until near the end of the game when I started using Rikku in my main party.

Auron because he was cool and had a sweet overdrive attack, plus his words we're always my favourite, I also recently discovered he a samurai o.o

I liked Auron - he was cool. He was also strong, his swords were awsome! I aslo liked the design, with the total badass look, although it is true to say that Kilmari was more original, I just liked Auron better.
Now, on to the girls. I'm quite torn between Yuna and Rikku. I like Rikku's joyful and happy personality but Yuna has more of an innocence about her which I find totally beautiful. I liked Yuna's costume more, with the kimono and I liked the espers and white magic too but then I liked Rikkus abilities just as well. So yeah, I'm torn.

Auron - old drunk man with a sword XD and he was the most likeable character, tidus got on my tits a little! Kimahri had a great desigin too.
Lulu - something pretty cool about a little moogle/cactuar running up and doing over 9999 damage
and she had the best design, was more mature than the other girls in the game.
