So I was thinking we have many well established popular game franchises out there.

Like Resident Evil and Mario and FF and so many others that keep releasing these new games like candy all the time.

Call of Duty - I think the majority of us are with me on this that this series needs to die but unfortunatly I don't see that ever happaning,

Assassin's Creed - I loved the first 2 Assassin's Creed games they were superb in my opinion but after that started going downhill. Revelations was the living proof that now they only throw together a game, don't care if it's bad or not, they sell it, because they know people will buy it anyway.

Sonic - It's sad to see what they've done with this series after the excellent Mega Drive titles. They've pretty much all but put a bullet in Sonic's spiky head so they should just bury him and finish the job. I say this but I was fond of Sonic Generations but it and Sonic Rush have been the only good Sonic games since Sonic & Knuckles.

The really awful shovelware games you see cluttering up game store shelves, most typically over in the DS, 3DS and Wii sections. I'm on about things like the umpteenth awful Wii waggle control sports games and...Just Dance. Resting in peace would be too good for them. They need to be summarily thrown into searing underworld flames. As well as the general bad games that have been rushed out the door with nigh little effort put into them in the hopes of grabbing some quick bucks from unsuspecting consumers.

I think things franchises like Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy will need a much-needed hiatus. I know Ubisoft have separate team divisions that handle each of the different games, so it isn't like AC3 has been given only a year in development, but the franchise burnout will quickly take its toll if it hasn't already. Eventually, there will be very little left of the franchise that is special or innovative. It'll just be Call of Duty's action-adventure cousin. The well-established franchises right now know they print vast quantities of money, so the annual churning won't cease anytime too soon.

Is it bad if I suggest that I wouldn't mind seeing Pokémon end? I know it won't happen anytime soon either because it's one of the BIGGEST things in Japan, and still is worldwide, but one glance at the 5th generation told me all I needed to know. I don't even think they're trying anymore. The imagination mill had ground to a halt beforehand.

Is it also controversial of I suggest that they should (they of course, won't!) end the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises? The latter must be one incomprehensible heap of storytelling mess by now that is still showing no signs of reaching anything conclusive - somehow. The former will probably never repeat the similar successes of its FFVII halcyon days and will likely continue to disappoint and alienate, not helped by the fact that FFXIV's launch has been a nigh objective disaster. At least if it's ended, we can walk into new IPs with expectations nowhere near as unrealistically lofty and avoid all the future complaints about Square-Enix dragging the franchise yet again even further into the ground deep enough that it's near the Earth's core.

Sonic : While Colours and Gerenrations was a improvement since how Sonic games have been of late ( dreadful ) I think it's time for Sonic to take off his speed shoes; call up Tails and Knuckles and head into the local retirement home with them. Sonic doesn't really work in 3D, and he isn't getting the attention that he got in the 90's. Sonic is a dieing mascot. It's like a old person trying to prove to the public that he's still young and hip, but he has wrinkles, he can't see really well, his knees are hurting and he's a slow driver.
Sonic Team needs to realize that Sonic has had his time, and they need to bring out somebody new and fresh, while maybe re- release the old Sonic game every Sonic anniversary.

Kingdom Hearts : Just end it already Square. Most of the games that they're bringing out now are unnecessary and just confusing the already messy storyline even more. Bring out KH3, end it. Don't beat the Cow and hopes that it brings out milk when it should of been taken to the meat factory ages ago.

Final Fantasy : "This is what SE sings each office meeting : "

"This is the song that never ends, this is the song that never ends. Some people keep on thinking that blah, blah, blah- coz they'll keep on singing forever just because, this is the song that never ends, this the song that never ends- some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and now they'll keep singing it just because. This is the song that never ends- - - -

Assassin Creed : First couple of games lovely, but by judging by their newest game that they plain to bring out, it needs to stop because they're running out of good ideas.

Mario Brothers : Jump on mushrooms, defeat Browser, oh whoops Peach is in a different castle. Rpt formula for each game ever since. Like Sonic, he's now relying on a Olympic game to be "different ".

Devil May Cry : Oh gosh, the latest game that they're trying to bring proves to us all that they're running out of ideas and they're struggling to keep Dante's game fresh and new. End it, please !

Street Fighter : It's the same old thing since Street Fighter II. Street Fighter IV didn't feel that different. Bring out V, and then like it's old rivial Mortal Kombat says " finish him " !

Tekken : Same story as Street Fighter.
