Which Final Fantasy games are Medieval inspired?

Hi! I am new to Final Fantasy, ABSOLUTELY brand new. I want to get into the series and don't know where to start. I am a fan of the medieval inspired fantasy setting with video games such as the Elder Scrolls series and Zelda series. I know that Final Fantasy has some sci fi games as well as medieval fantasy games or a blend of the two. Which Final Fantasy games have a medievalish setting? both the 2d ones and 3d ones? I wanna start there.

Basically Final Fantasy was always sort of a medieval fantasy thing until Final Fantasy VI. Then it incorporated more sci-fi elements. VII and VIII continued this trend, and thus 6-8 could all be considered sci-fi/fantasy games, set in largely modern/futuristic settings. IX was a return to the series roots, which included the medieval setting. So yeah, IX is probably what you're looking for.

The highest quality games in the series are 6-10, and out of those only 9 is medieval.
 
Final fantasy 1 through 6, ff9 (sort of), ff12 (sort of), ff14 (sort of) and lastly ff tactics.

Its very hard to really push for full medieval game. Se has always done a more blend of the two.
