Where is this pianomelody from?

The file says it's from FF8, but I can not find it in the Original Soundtrack.
Infact, I cannot find it at all in any of Final Fantasy's soundtracks, and I have them all.

I clearly remember hearing it somewhere though, its a great melody. Can someone tell me where it's from?
 
I downloaded the file and gave it a listen.

I'm afraid I'm lost with that track. I thought I'd be able to identify it. It doesn't sound like anything that would come from the game's soundtrack directly. The composition, perhaps, but the quality of the sound sounds different to me. Perhaps this is a cover and remix of another track?

That said I can't identify it at all. It does ring a bell. I'd suggest it was from one of the piano scenes in FFVIII, however they play a variation of the main theme tune on that, and this certainly isn't that.

It might not even be from FFVIII. However I have played all Final Fantasys apart from FFIII, and I don't recognise this track as coming from any of them. It might do, and if it does then it is really obscure and perhaps used only once within the respective game.


Sorry I couldn'y identify it. I'd like to know what it is myself as it has me puzzled.
 
Wow, I'm honestly not sure. It does sound like it's from FFVIII but I don't recall ever hearing that particular song played in the game. Then again, there's also an FFX song that is called Sky Theme that was never released into the original game, so perhaps this is just another one of those really pretty stray themes floating around. It is lovely though.
 
hmmm... I downloaded it and listened to it as well I don't think it is from FF8. I have pretty much every song from FF8...It kinda sounds more like something from FFX.... as Mandi said though there are random songs floating around out there. I know for a fact there is an alternate song from The Landing FMV, that was only used in the demo for the game.... so that may be from the demo or something as well...
 
Damn it. I've had it on my computer for so long, and my heart is dead sure it's from FF8. It can be an outtake yes, but I'm also sure I've heard it in one FF game!

I tried to identify it with Shazam on my Iphone, with no luck.
If you look at FF9 OST Plus, theres tons of songs that didnt make it on the soundtrack. Maybe this is one of the outtakes from FF8, that was still in the game.
 
I just read several people on Youtube, claiming this music is from a game called Lunar Silver Star Story.

I think it's strange I have heard this song, but never ever played that game then. Never even heard of it.
