where does lightning returns lie in the story? read more for clear explaination!

Hey guys,

I am thinking of buying lightning returns. I have completed FFXIII but not even started FFXIII-2 yet. should i play FFXIII-2 or is it not needed to understand the storyline that is in lightning returns?

Lightning Returns comes after XIII-2, and things in XIII-2 are shown in LR.... So if you wanna play XIII-2, I would play that first
