When do you fight Gilgamesh?

He's an Elite Mark that you can choose by talking to Montblanc. The title is "Ancient Man of Mystery".

I fought him at level 50 and kicked his ass ninja style! well for the first time round.

You need a key from somewhere to access that area of the lhusu mines aswel, I think its the one you get off the bloke who fell from bujerba at the phon coast?
 
^Aye. After you defeat him the first time, you need to go to the Hunters' Camp at the Phon Coast and get the Site 11 key.
 
The only thing I have to add is that you keep doing the hunts until his pops up in Mont Blanc's menu, he is a level VII mark.
 
Another thing to note. Make sure you steal the Genji equipment off him. It's a one-time only offer. You'll fight him 2 times, each time you'll be able to steal 2 pieces of equipment off him at certain intervals. (According to his HP)

Not exactly what i thought when i fought him...not "Gotta get the fricking genji shizz....STEAL GODDAMNIT"

It was more along the lines of..."Kill the dog kill the dog. KILL IT. OK...now for gilgamesh and...woooo! thats a BIIIIG sword. shit."

But yeah thanks. I haven't found him for the second fight yet
 
steal the genji equip since this is the only place from where you can get it

also if you have ashe as the party leader when you kill him then the winning scene will be different
 
I still wonder how does that guy survive but then I disregard it because it's FF ^^;;
Gilgamesh is funny as hell and the swirds he has are bootlegs >>;;
