What's the deal with Midnight anklets etc.?

As far as I know,the only enemy that can deal dark-elemental damage is Scar!
So why did Square put in items such as Midnight Anklet,Chaos anklet and such?
(if the accessory names are wrong its because I havent played KH2 for almost a year because of my asshole brother.)

No idea. I've actually wondered why all games do this. I'm going to kind of take this post off topic a bit in answering this... but I've always been curious as to why developers add a lot of useless accessories and items. I guess it makes something to "sell" so the player can generate profit but it really seems random how a large majority of "drops" are really freaking pointless.

Scar, Cerberus, The bosses in Beast's Castle (1st Time), a few normal enemies and a couple of Organization members harbor the Dark element. If you have the Final Mix version, you also get the additional Light element - Roxas, Xigbar, Saix and Xemnas are Light element.

The Dark element is more pronounced in KH1, because a vast majority of the bosses used Dark attacks.

I always just used my imagination with those accessories and assumed that enemies like The Organization, Heartless Bosses, Scar, Cerberus, Hades and such like were all Dark bosses. Beyond that, they're probably just there to test your better judgement.
