What would you say if someone asked you what VII was about? (Summary)

My friend has never played VII to this day. He recently asked me "What is it actually about?" Do you think I was able to answer his question? Afraid not.

I know the story well, and can participate in lively discussions, even debate over many aspects of the story. However, this question has proven difficult for me to answer. How would you, personally, summarise this game?

For anyone interested, I ended up talking about "an insane guy who wants to become one with the world, because he discovered his mum wasn't actually human", or something to that effect.

I just tell people its about a crazed psycho who wants to kill everyone who is a part of "the company" and most especially the companies greatest soldier. but hes a pussy and cant do it alone so he gets his friends to help.

usually by the time iv said the crazed psycho bit people get interested and ask if they can borrow it.......the answer is NO everytime
