Right, I want a Wii and a PS3.

Obviously, the PS3 is more expensive, so I'm going have to wait about a month give or take to save the money, the Wii will take about 2weeks maybe.

So either way, I'm getting both, but not sure which way to do it, I could get the Wii in two weeks time, but then have to wait longer for my PS3, or I could get the PS3 in a month and wait longer to get my Wii.

DILEMA!11!!1!1!ONEONE!

Yeah, help!

Er, Id say get whatever has ore games that interest youat the moment, either way whichever you get will (hopefully) occupy you until you can afford the other, so on that I guess I'd say get a Wii so you have it sooner I guess. I want both aswel and if I could Id likely get the Wii forst seeing as theres nothing I particularily want on the PS3 at this moment in time. I just want Wii Fit :wacky:

Wii...well, if you like really long games that will last a long while, then get a PS3 probably. The Wii, has quite a lot of short games. Whether that's changed now, I honestly don't know.

That's the thing, I really want Twilight Princess, and I really want MGS4.

How can I possibly choose between Zelda & MGS? :(

id start with getting the wii even though im not a big fan of it but it has a couple of really good games. The only game I can think of thats worth playing for the ps3 right now is MGS4. Im still stuck on mgs1, trying to get the 2nd disk to work.

If it boils down to those two games, I say go with Twilight Princess and the Wii. You'll get more for less money. MGS4 is a great game, but I was left feeling a bit disappointed due to its short length and run 'n' gun gameplay.

Neither console has an abundance of amazing games available, but I think the Wii offers a bit more at the moment.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they tie the whole story up in MGS4, been wanting it for ages. Plus I want to see what MG Online is like lol.

You playing MGS1 via PS2? Heard people have had issues with it on PS2 systems, it worked fine for me on my chunky PS2, not tried it on my slimline so I don't know.

I read they switched the game horizontally for TP, for the Wii remotes, because Link is originally left handed, so the switched it for the controllers so now he's right handed, do you know if you can manually switch it back? (I'm left handed you see lol)

Eh......I've been a Zelda fan for a long time, but I actually traded TP in the other day. I've found other Zelda titles to be more enjoyable (Wind Waker, Oracle of Ages/Seasons), this one kind of bored me, and I couldn't help but draw comparisons between it and Okami (Okami consistently came out on top). It's not a bad game by any means...but there were a few combat issues that just should not have existed (Wolf Link can't bite while swimming, can't attack while running up steep inclines), and the graphics were just ugly (as well as the character designs). I'm not a graphics whore, but there's just no excuse for graphics that poor on the Wii/GameCube.

I make mention of the flaws not just because I'm picky and because Okami spoiled me, but because I have never seen a single fucking review talk about them (minus graphics, but they always found some way to justify them). I've seen it touted as the perfect LoZ game, surpassing even Ocarina of Time, and never heard of ANY flaws. I had to find them out on my own, which made them all the more glaring because I was expecting a perfect game.

I don't think you can, just hold the remote in your left hand and the nunchuck in your right. The remote/nunchuck controls are awesome though, it feels SO much more immersive when you're physically swinging around your sword instead of mashing buttons. You should probably rent this one first though, just to see how it feels and if you actually like the game. If you want to buy something with confidence along with your Wii, I would recommend Smash Bros, I have not been disappointed at all with that game, it lived up to the hype.

TP will give you MAAAAAAAAAAAAAANY more hours of gameplay than MGS4. MGS4 can be finished in 6-8 hours. Here, I'll list the best games for each console to make it easy on you.

Top Exclusives for the Wii (excluding Virtual Console)
Metroid Prime 3
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Twilight Princess
Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
No More Heros
Zack and Wiki
Super Paper Mario
Mario Strikers

A Kirby title will eventually come out for the Wii, along with the inevitable Mario and Zelda titles. Wario Land: Shake It looks to be promising. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World will probably be good, and The Conduit has the potential to be a very good FPS. MadWorld might be nifty too.

Top Exclusives for the PS3
MGS4
Ratchet and Clank Future
Uncharted
Resistance
Echochrome
PixelJunk Eden

Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty will be good, and God of War 3 will of course be epic as hell. There will be sequels to Killzone and Resistance, PS3 will have FF13: Versus...and um...you've got Little Big Planet, Flower and Afrika coming up if you're actually interested in those.

Of course, the PS3 has quite a few good non-exclusives that the Wii doesn't have (Street Fighter 4, Soul Calibur 4, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4 to name a few), and it seems to be getting some good ports of 360 games too (Bioshock, Eternal Sonata). So really, just depends on what you're into.

If you wanna be an eternal kid I should recommend you a Wii cuz it´s nice making shameful moves.

Now the real thing, a ps3. It is not too pricey, but it is extremely a better choice. You can pay more but it is in this one that you´ll get the next real gen of FFs and other very good looking games (GTA4, MGS4, Heavenly Sword,...)

When it comes to the Wii/PS3 question, this is really the truth.

I've got both, and I would give the Wii the edge. Now, I bought my PS3 on launch day, so I'm definately a huge fan of the system, or at least I was.

The fact is, when it comes to long-term enjoyment, the Wii's games are definately a cut above the PS3's. Not to say that the PS3's games aren't enjoyable, but once they're done, they're done (for the most part). Wii games, especially if you've got people around you who enjoy them, can be fun forever (or close to it).

I just don't use my PS3 much anymore. MGS doesn't really interest me all that much (gasp), so that leaves a list of games that's somewhat lacking. R&C, Resistance (ok), and Uncharted are plenty good, but not mind-blowing.

If nothing else, get the Wii for the Virtual Console. Now that's a good time. =P

hmm, seems to be leaning towards the Wii first here.

What's the Wii like online? Any known regular issues? Userbase etc. because this will play a part in which I go for first, the PS3 to me seems the better choice for online gaming, but that's purely based on the fact I haven't read/heard much about Wii's online gameplay which makes me think it's not really worth talking about, if that makes sense lol.

If you're looking for the better online multiplayer experience, go with the PS3. The Wii has several games (Mario Kart, SSBB...and...wait, that may be it) that could be amazing online but aren't due to a lack of features that make online gaming fun and easy. The whole process is a pain with the Wii. You need to exchange game codes with people for every stinking game you play, and chat and messaging capabilities are limited. Also--and this may not be the case for others--I experience A LOT of connection/lag problems with Wifi. It's hard for me to blame my own personal connection when I can play online lag-free with my PS3 and 360.

It's true: if there's an area that the Wii suffers in, it's online gaming. Let's face facts, Nintendo has always been a little behind in the online race, and it continues to show with the Wii. Not only are there very few games that actually have online play, it's not done very well. As stated before, though, there are some interesting things that the Wii can do with its online capabilities (Weather Channel, Virtual Console, etc.), but almost nothing in terms of gameplay, which is troubling.

However, the PS3 has a similar problem. Again, the list of decent multiplayer games for the PS3 is pretty short. Sure, PSN is free, and you can get some fun games from them á la Virtual Console; but the lack of decent multiplayer games still remains. PSN is far more streamlined than the Wii network, but if there aren't any games to play, what's the difference?

I'd say go for the Wii first. As Bambi said earlier, you'll have it sooner and then hopefully that'll keep you occupied until you can afford the PS3 seeing as you're getting them both anyway. :monster:

I don't have a PS3 myself so can't really say much about the games, but I'm guessing they'll be the usual sort of games, whereas the Wii has a more unique selection and the way that you control the games is unique too so it'd be something different. To be honest I don't play mine that much but even the Wii sport which comes with the console has me amused for hours when I play with my family. Anyhoo, I'm kind of rambling about nothing now so I'd say just go for whichever console has the best games for you. :monster:

Id get the PS3 purely for MGS4 and Soul Caliber. Pity I dont have the cash to do so. On the other hand, Wii is fun as its interactive and the Wii Fit seems like an amazing investment for me. You may beg to differ lol. please do if you think you need to.

At the end of the day, its your choice and cash. Im stuck on this one mate. Ok... I say ... Wii!!! and Im a Sony fangirl lol.
