Weird Coincidences

Ever had a weird coincidence?

This morning in church I was muttering the word 'cistern' to myself for a word I would implement in my fiction, and then during the readings, I found that the homily repeated that same word TWICE, ten minutes after I muttered it to myself.

Coincidence or no? My name's Jeremiah and they were talking about 'casting the prophet Jeremiah into the cistern'. o_O
 
When I wish for someone to lose in a game, 90% of the time they do lose ^_^

And whenever i start drinking, I get bombarded with like tons of people on MSN wanting to chat (makes it hard since im drunk) :/
 
I think sometimes if you know stories like that they can hide in the back of your mind. You forget they're even there. Sometimes they offer inspiration without ever hearing the word, without you ever knowing where those thoughts came from. The coincidence is just that a moment later you found out where that particular thought came from. I'm sure it happens to everyone multiple times daily though and we just never realize.
 
Yeah, I've heard that explanation lots of times before Aztec, it's just that it goes to the back of my mind too. Ironic, eh? xD
But yeah, someone may mention something that brings it to the front of the mind and you just realize it, it's weird how it works, but it does work. xD
 
Yea, I agree completely Warb. Its really weird sometimes when those coincidences happen and you have absolutely no clue what the connection was. You thought of something, heard it moments later, and never knew or heard of it before that moment.

There's always the possibility you heard it somewhere before and forgot it... but I think most of the time (like happens a lot with certain words) it's much more probable you heard it and never internalized it even though it's very commonplace. Then when you discover it on your own and you hear it moments later, you're surprised. But you only really recognized it because you never paid any attention before.
 
The other night I dreamt my boyfriend travelled to Moscow and that day he had discussed going to Russia with friends at work. I find it odd that that both happened on the same day.
 
Recently me and my mom have been talking about getting a Golden Retriever / labrador, infact we're going down to the kennels on friday ^_^ - and i've been seeing them everywhere. I saw at least ten of the dogs today..
 
But see what other tings might you have seen in excess today that never registered with your mind simply because it wasn't a current issue with you. Like you may have also seen two dozen incredibly old people driving a car today but because you didn't have a discussion about how old people shouldn't drive... you never recognized the repetition.
