There are good and bad bits to FFX-2, like the Curate's Egg. One of its chief problems, IMO, is that it was put together rather hastily, and the backstory/plot points are not so well-thought-out as its predecessor.

I noticed a comment in some thread or other about Yunalesca's final scene in FFX, about how she thought she was going to "die," but in fact, obviously, Yuna failed to send her, because she shows up in the Via Infinito in FFX-2. So does Zaon, despite our hearing from another ghost in the Zanarkand Dome that "his soul is gone." And of course, all the aeons show up as dark aeons, even though Yuna sent them.

So what gives? Are we to take this as canon? Is there a way to explain this without retconning or ignoring FFX? Did Yunalesca -- some piece of her -- survive, or is this a result of Trema's sphere collection (and all the spheres being broken)?
