I was thinking about what to do for the long weekend.. Finish FFVI Advance, or start a new game in FFVII... I'm leaning towards FFVI because I just like that game overall better, and its been a while since I beat it. Your thoughts?

I prefer VI to VII. I've always like the fantasy setting more than the scifi setting. And I like the characters better in VI.

I would say play final fantasy 7. But if you have played it and not final fantasy 6, then play final fantasy 6. When you said "start a new game on final fantasy 7" that means you have already played it right??

for a long week end? FFVI
for a week off? FFVII

VI would be quicker and easier to complete - and its portable ^_^
VII would take you at least a week to complete and wouldn't be ideal for a long weekend :P

You're making a mistake if you're gonna play VI. VII is the choice to go with.

Really. VI > VII in every respect, including characters :) There's more fun things to do like, finding Gogo

Personally I'd do VI, but that's because I haven't completed it yet.
But since you like VI better anyway, that should be the winning argument anyway, play the game you like the most, which you said is VI

yea i would say ff6 for a long weekend man thats the life sitting down and playing ff6 for three days but if you want to play ff7 i would put a lot more time aside i wish i had the to just play ff7 from start to finish in one sitting

You're all fools to choose FF6 over FF7. The storyline is not as strong. The music is not as good. The graphics aren't as good, even though graphics don't matter, nothing is wrong with some eye candy. FF7 is a bigger game.

FF7 >>> FF6 In every single way. I think DS owners are just mad that they wont be getting Crisis Core.

I like them both pretty closely, I enjoyed them equally, Id bet on VI keeping you interested longer though, VII theres times where you want to give it a rest for a bit cuz the plot isnt moving along

Both in my opinion are Awesome games and I loved each and every moment of FFVI and FFVII.

However, FFVII takes the cake for me because it leaves so many doors open in the end that can be built upon. The characters in both are top notch and have amazing backgrounds in each storyline. Arguably though, FFVII wins the plot battle and that's where I draw my deciding line for the winner.

Good lord, what do you expect?! It was on the NES/SNES whatever you call it, so what do you EXPECT from such an early game. Of course FFVII was going to be a bigger game, but your arguement for saying ney to FFVI and yey to FFVII isn't a strong one, so I'm not exactly going to listen to you.

FFVI is a better game, it did surprisingly well for itself in terms of gameplay, even sidequests. Character backgrounds were complex, for such a title, and the gameplay was somewhat challenging, compared to the dull Materia system. You could even pick yourself up some secret characters - the vast range of storyline based characters was, immense. Lot of choice, and the music; can't comment on it too much, not able to remember much. You can only expect so much for NES/SNES title.

And btw..not all DS owners are mad that they won't be getting CC. I'm looking for original, new titles, not some spinoffs featuring some character that's been hidden away for many years, or that has somehow been in the storyline all along, but has just decided to reappear.

As good as VI is I still prefer VII, but thats only because I think the storyline is awesome, though it is a tad surreal at times. But I love Chocobo racing, GREATEST MINIGAME EVER! sorry, yer but If its been a while for VI do that.
