Um.. This makes sense (not)

I purchase spells from a spell guy to teach my summon, it said the sumon learned it, and then I get into battle, I start getting owned so I decide "Hey, lets have my summon use Cura". Nope, apparently my summon doesn't know any magic.. But I did lose the gil to pay for them, so shouldnt they be there? Whats going on?

you have to go to the summon spell book and equip the spell in question

Ah, you have to train your summon how to use Cura. You have to let him/her keep using it until the level goes up or something. It takes time, but be patient. Soon he'll be able to heal.

i think he has to equip the spell first to the summon before he can actually use it mitsuki

lolz, i see your point, he just said it wasn't under the magic box so i thought he didn't equip it yet

Equip magic? Is there even an equip screen for the summons?

You find it in My Inventory.... The summon inventory is on the bottom of the list. It is labeled summon spells. Select that and you will see a list with white boxes. check the boxes to equip the spells and select equip. You can equip up to 10 spells to your character and 10 spells to your summon.
