Tree in the dessert

I'm just into the game and already have become lost. I have beat medusa in the tower and that is as far as I have gotten... The two doors on the castle are locked and it's empty... What am I missing here???

The maelstrom blocking your way from the inner sea to the outer sea should be gone. You can go visit the island of the dwarves and be on your way.

If you get stuck, use the Sight spell or some gnomish bread to see all the cities and caves on the map and go to the ones you haven't been yet.

As for the locked doors . . . make your top character (using the formation menu item) a thief. A thief or someone who goes to Gysahl and gets magic keys should be able to open anything. All the stuff back there is just some nice gear to use, nothing plot significant.

I'll add your friend code once I get where a moogle is again. Right now I'm in Eureka, so it would take awhile to get to another one.

Desch is dead and the maelstrom is gone... The only thing I wasn't able to do is get the tree in the dessert to do anything but wiggle around... I might just move on and be on my way....
 
Did you find the Living Woods? Its not far from Castle Argus. There are bunch of faeries there and a big ole in the ground where the tree should go. I went there before I beat Desch and I believe I went right there after I defeated him.

Sorry about that KdogTN...I got confused who Desch was for a moment. You have to continue with the game until you help the Dwarves out. Shortly after, you will be able to help out the huge tree in the desert. Sorry for the mistake.
 
No probbo dude.. THanks for the advice... I'm on my way to the dwarf cave as we speak...

Kdog, Aeris and Goat, I've added you all on my mognet. I'm sure i'll need some tips as i progress in the game as well, so hopefully through the Moogles i can get some much needed help. Unfortunately I don't get to play that often as I have work, school, a 2 year old daughter, and another baby on the way. But I figure that's where sleep deprivation comes in....lol. Lucky for me I have WIFI at school and work so I have a chance to not pay attention to anything important... I Final fantasy is a fun game to play during Anatomy and Physiology... Bring on the questions... Hopefully, I'll be off of this world tonight and onto bigger and better enemies... BTW, the water spouts are wicked looking...
