So, we all have them - who are your most favourite villains in any game from any console?

I recently learned that Gamespot ranked Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth as the #1 villain of all games, quickly followed at #2 by my personal favourite, Sarah Louise Kerrigan, from the PC Starcraft series brought to us by Blizzard Entertainment.

When you're here, give some justification for your love of that villain.

For roughly ten years I've always been a massive fan of Kerrigan, the self-styled 'Queen of Blades.' From a very young age, she was subject to psychological torture in order to release whatever potent Psionic abilities she was thought to have. When she was rescued by the future Emperor of the Terran Dominion, Arcturus Mengsk, she quickly climbed the ranks to Lieutenant and was one of Mengsk's most trusted Ghosts. However, after an overwhelming force of Zerg annihilated her base on an orbital platform, Mengsk ordered that she and her team be abandoned and, consequently, Kerrigan was presumed dead at the hands of the Zerg forces.

In your next campaign, you discover that Kerrigan has become infested by the Zerg and has become "the greatest of agents" in the swarm. Under the control of the Overmind, she unleashes her fury upon all of her enemies, including the Terran Dominion, unlocks most of her Psionic potentional and annihilates the remaining Protoss forces on the Zerg homeworld, Char.

In the expansion set: Starcraft: Brood War, Kerrigan assumes control over the entire Zerg swarm upon defeat of the Overmind at the hands of the Dark Templar, whom Kerrigan blackmails to help her. In Brood War, Kerrigan makes her name:
- She takes control of the Protoss Matriarch's mind and later uses her to achieve any goal she sets the Protoss fleet.
- She personally manipulates the main characters of the Protoss to help stem to growth of a new Overmind and, subsequently, murders the only member of the Protoss who suspects her - bringing to realisation to the others that she has masterminded an entire chain of events.

- She orders her [albeit deceitful] ally, Samir Duran [also playing the part of an Infested Terran - whom we later learn to be deceiving Kerrigan] to manipulate the United Earth Directorate into sabotaging any means of actually defeating the Zerg].

- She offers bargains to Arcturus Mengsk, offering to help him retake his sectors in exchange for helping her to regain control of her broods - along with two other major characters, Praetor Fenix and James Raynor.
- After she has accomplished any goal, which she requires help, she murdered General Duke, Mengsk's General, and Fenix, through sheer evil. Further, she captured the Protoss Matriatch in order to blackmail to other Protoss into destroying the Overmind for her - allowing her to rise to complete power.

In the end of the story, Kerrigan obtains full control over the Zerg swarm, manages to defeat three attacking fleets at once and takes full control of any sector, forcing any surviving ship to retreat and ultimately be destroyed. She declares that none shall ever dispute her rule again and, with that, the current instalments in Starcraft come to an end.

To summarise, Kerrigan changes from fighting against the Zerg to manipulating, scheming and blackmailing her way to the undisputed ruler of the Zerg - she possesses enough power to take full control of ... well, everything. The self-proclaimed "Queen Bitch of the Universe" truly deserves a high ranking in the villain table.

If I could pick a character from a game in the future... Daemion of thirteen hour (which I plan to make. :P)

On a less selfish note; The Master Mutant of Fallout or the whole Enclave of Fallout 2...

I'd have to say the Enclave was the most villainous, though... Think about it... The Enclave:

1. Sent millions of people into Fallout shelters underground, under the pretense that they were saving people.
2. Pretty much conducted the most inhumane, unvolunteered, experiments on the people within the vaults without their knowledge.
3. If they caught people leaving the vaults that were meant to be sealed for an experiment, they'd brutally murder anyone in that vault because the experiment had been 'contaminated' by the vault opening.

These were some sadistic villains...

Top Villain, Sephiroth (look at my siggy). He is bad and looks cool and would have beaten the hell out of Cloud if it weren't for Square Soft/Enix. Besides him, Ganondorf/Ganon from the Legend of Zelda series.

Gannondorf is a great villain who is not actually that evil, he just wants a place to rule in peace, since he was born in the desert, a place full of death and sorrow.

Ach, it was only a matter of time before someone else mentioned Sephiroth. I know that I used to be quite the fanboy but, in heinsight, I can't help but question whatever justification I gave myself. As I stand, presently, I can no longer think of any real reason why Sephiroth was, infact, crowned the greatest gaming villain of all time.

As for myself and Fallout I wouldn't say the mutants.....I'd say the Vault leader. I wont say why because people have yet to play it but boy....what a ****er! And I agree with Fallout 2's Enclave. Although I've yet to ever finish the game, just by watching the intro, you can tell they're a right bunch of ****s.

I'd also like to add Sydney Losstarot from Vagrant Story. He may not be the ultimate bad guy but at the start, he is and he's SO cool too.

Last but not least, Revan from Knights of the Old Republic. :D

Killer from Shadow Hearts 3 From the New World, although he is not the main villain but he follows the main villain. He was a mass murderer in New York, but then he got a Kiss of Malice that strengthened him. You fight him 3 times but the 3rd time he morphs into Malice Killer.

Yeah, one of your past names expresses how devoted you were...

Anyway, I am actually really angry with the creators of Legend of Zelda. Who the fuck thought that
killing Ganondorf, meaning he is DEAD for sure
was a good thing to do in Twilight Princess? Ganondorf if one of the greatest villains of all times

And the final battle against his transformation, Half Bull-humanoid Ganon, in Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was one of my greatest game battles. :D
