So i feel not many understood why it was such a disappointment to lose Stella.
#1 : It doesn't matter if we didn't know much about her, its what she represented. From what we saw from stella wasn't the typical character. From what we saw, Stella provided an interesting role already. We saw her actively speak to Noctis without hesitation, and without being the stereotypical anime-esque character. We saw her actively face Noctis. She was very dynamic from what we saw. Her role was what we hoped, regardless if it had the name "Stella".
#2 : From what we "do" know, Stella played a major role on revealing one of the many complicated aspects of Noctis. Noctis having this shy aspect and how she was introduced to Noctis revealed alot about Noctus just as much as Stella revealing herself. At this point if Stella is replaced with a more generic character (Luna), Noctis's character is also going to diminish.
#3 : Its not like the original creator's have died or not available. Removing Stella because they didn't understand her is like they didn't understand Noctis. Its been clear how much has truly been removed. If you look the previous renditions of Noctis and Stella's relationship having Shakespearean themes to Noctis and the Gang of boys. The focus on the party has been put much more than Stella. So at this point, they changed the themes entirely. Or they change the story so much, they didn't consider stella until it was the point of no return.
#4 : They didn't take advantage of what we didn't know in order to use her. Stella was a character that played a large role from what we knew when it was Versus XIII.....But what we didn't know was plenty useful for the new team to take advantage of. Removing her completely shows a lot more of where the story is going. Which means more than half of what was meant to be there or what was highlighted before is completely gone.
#5 : It really tells me a lot that FF versus XIII wasn't even finished on the scripting and concept. To give it to another team andhaving the freedom to change more than most of it already. I fell in love with the concept of Final Fantasy Versus XIII because it was going to be a darker game, we were going to see dynamic characters that we've never seen before.
Removing stella tells me more than ever.
