Playstation Too many RPGs, where should I start?

Forgot to mention. If you love Persona and have a PSP, Persona 1 was re-made for the PSP and is out now. Also P3 has been re-made for the PSP, but this time has a female character you can play as instead of the original male character!!! Thats out in Japan this November and will hopefully be in the States and UK soon :D

Oh don't worry, I'm keeping myself up to date Persona wise ^_^

1 I know I'm getting for Xmas. 3 I'll import on American release, for sure. And I have Devil Survivor coming to me (not so) soon.

If that comes out over here, I might actually have to buy a PSP.

I'm unsure that it would, even in the States. The PSP has had many remakes that have remained Japan exclusives from the likes of some Tales of titles and Suikoden. Probably others but I don't know them or can't remember. Similar like with Tales of Vesperia being released on the PS3 outside of Japan. It didn't happen with Tales of Symphonia, so I'm not exactly optimistic about it. I'd love to see it, it's one of my favorite games and to play it on the go? Fantabulous.

I really hope you're wrong about that Exire, P3Portable looks awesome even if I've played P3 so many times :S

Anyways I think I've finally picked a game to play through next. Suikoden 5 :)

I tried out Rogue Galaxy on Saturday while I was visiting family (my mam keeps a ps2 in the guest room XD), and I really liked the look of it. The disc ran a bit slow in between language select and the title screen, the game itself played fine though. When I got it home it did the same thing but eventually played ok. I put it on yesterday and I couldn't even get past the language select screen :(

In the end I tried to play half an hour of each game on the Sunday, just to see which one sparked my interest the most. Suikoden 5 seemed to win in the end, as I played that for a lot longer than I intended, and I obviously didn't finish my list :P

Thanks for all the help guys ^_^

Persona has become a popular RPG in the States and Europe though. They would be mad to not release it over here. Its more cash in their pockets.

Awesome, you picked Suikoden 5! Let us know how it goes. Let me know how long it takes you, too - that was one of those games that took me 90+ hours to complete.

Yeah I did, I hope it picks up soon. I was enjoying it when I was at the dried out lake, but that area was tiny and I've spent hours running around huge towns/arena's/castles and doing barely any fighting since leaving it :(

My sis says the story is amazing, so I assume it'll pick up once the princesses hubby is picked *cough* Sialeed's ex, so obvious, he's a prick *cough*

I'm up to the part where Balcoot(??)'s admirer/stalker ^_^ was kidnapped, and I've finally appeared on the world map :D

I'm still lol'ing at the princess, she looks like a mini Tifa ^_^ Kyle is funny, at least I know I'll see more of him - same VA as Yosuke from Persona 4 right? Sounds like him.

90+ hours? it'll probably be a good 120+ hours for me then :P I usually play a game a lot longer than I should. ^_^ If I don't go out of my way to recruit people, how many characters do you think I'll have for the game? 108 (is it?) seems a tad excessive ;)

Oh, I didn't even notice.

I really don't know... I'm going to guess between 40 and 60? I'm sure someone else could give you a better answer. I got all 108 in this game (and IV - I tried in III, but I only got about 100), so I don't remember what the default would have been for just characters that are required to join you.

Well I'm not impressed. My ps2 is either on the blink or I just got unlucky with two possibly broken preowned games :/

I had picked Rogue Galaxy originally, but that now refuses to load passed the language select screen.

Suikoden 5 was my next choice. I got passed the first war game, went to the floating town I always forget the name of :/ and was told to go back to the lake town (gah my memory of town names is laughable!). I went to the father and daughter duo who would give me a lift in the boat, and everytime the father goes to speak the game freezes. Every damn time.

Edit:
The thing is, Persona 3, Digital Devil 1, Persona 4 work perfectly. I think my ps2 loves Megaten a little too much and it's banned me from anything else ^_^ I got a disc cleaner for Rogue Galaxy and Suikoden, Rogue's still got the same prob while Suikoden refuses to load my save lol. I press Continue Game and it seizes. Doh.

I was in the same boat with Rogue Galaxy, got a disk cleaner, didnt work. So had to get a brand new copy of it. I dont understand it, but youre not alone with that problem.

Ah.. I see :(

the disc itself looks blurred, it's hard to describe really what it looks like :S As for Suikoden there are slight "scratches" on the disk, since it freezes the game in the same cutscene in the exact same place I doubt it's my ps2 that's the problem. :( Now I'm back to square one as to what game to play next :S *edits first post*
