So, Top Gear are once again in the spotlight in the aftermath of Richard "Hamster" Hammond suffering another high speed crash less than a year after an accident that almost took his life.
This time he crashed at roughly 100mph while on the Le Mans tour course, lost control of the car and smashed into a side barrier. Luckily he wasn't injured, but was apparently very shook up by the experience. But being a true Top Gear presenter, he went and had another go.

So the question now being posed is; do Top Gear take too many risks?

Thats just being stupid now. I love the show and its presenters, but I dont think they'll stop till one of thems dead! Less then a year and once again, its ridic. Hammonds poor family must be shook up and upset.

I think the stats speak for themselves really. Two accidents in the series' history, and when you look at some of the things they've done; that's an excellent record. Of course such a thing is always going to have the risk of high-speed crashes but without that risk the show would be boring. It's just unfortunate that both of these accidents have happened in such a short space of time.
All the presenters will know the risk and dangers of what they're doing and yet they still go through with pretty much anything behind the wheel of a car. They do take immense risks, but too far? Not at all.

To be honest, I don't find it any less risky than Wrestling, Boxing or various kinds of Extreme Sports. They all come with a danger, which the participants are made fully aware of.
