Timing Question on FFVIII Attacks.

(I meant FFVIII) Ok, You know when you use the main attack for squall and hit R1 right? Well, I can rarely get it to work on the other members of the party. I've never figured it out, is it a Squall only feature, or am I just having bad timing.

As far as I'm aware it's a Squall only feature, but there are others that will say if you get the timing right that you can do it with other characters. Although, Im not convinced myself, but then, Ive never tried. About the only other person Im aware you can do it wih is Seifer

It's only Squall. He has a gunblade. The R1 button simulates the gun part... it adds extra damage.

That makes sense then, I was simply curious because I would try it with irvine and it would sometimes do it. Or it could be a crit with me coincidently hitting R1.
