I been kind of confused about the time line, so I hope someone can shed some light please.

This is what I know so far:

Cloud (age 14) leaves his village to go to Shin-Ra

2 years later, Cloud comes back and a regular foot soldier, and all that stuff happens o_O

Then for 2 years, Cloud and Zack are test subjects before they break out.

So at this time, Cloud is 18, and after Zack dies, he makes his way to Midgar (I think).

So here's where I'm confused: Did Tifa find Cloud at the train station right at that time, or was it later on?

The present time of FFVII, Cloud is 20 years old, so what happened during those 2 years after Zack was killed?

Hmm, well I came across this timeline a few days ago. See if it helps.

[m ] - Era » 0000
The Cetra begin cultivating the Planet, questing for the Promised Land. Some of the Cetra become weary of their journey and give up, making permanent settlements and becoming the ancestors of the present-day human race.

[m ] - Era 0007
The Crisis from the Skies lands on the Planet. Later named Jenova, it earns the Cetra's trust, then gives them a fatal virus. The Planet creates the WEAPONs in self-defence but they are not needed as the few surviving Cetra seal Jenova in a geological stratum.

[m ] - Era 1952
10/13: Vincent Valentine is born and later joins the Turks.

[m ] - Era 1959
09/23: ShinRa, a weapons manufacturing company, discovers a new source of energy. This is Mako, a substance that is drawn from the Lifestream. However, this new energy resource is unsustainable, as its use has negative effects on the Planet.

Red XIII is born in Cosmo Canyon to Seto and his mate. When he is only a child, the Canyon is attacked by the Gi Tribe, and Red XIII's mother is killed and his father turned to stone.

[m ] - Era 1968
01/09: Mako-powered homes become widespread. People find Mako energy convenient despite its drawbacks (which aren't publicized) and soon the old way of life is forgotten.

08/19: The first Mako reactor is constructed near Nibelheim, on the peak of Mt. Nibel, an area particularly abundant in Mako. This reactor is later used by Professor Hojo to harbor Jenova and his monster-producing experiments.

[m ] - Era 1974
12/15: Barret Wallace is born in Corel, a small coal mining town on the Western Continent. He later marries a woman named Myrna and is an important figure within the town's population.

[m ] - Era 1975
02/22: Cid Highwind is born. Throughout his life, he develops an affinity for flying and becomes a pilot. At the age of 16 he is chosen by ShinRa to pilot a new rocket into space, but the mission is aborted due to a malfunction in one of the oxygen tanks. ShinRa decides to abandon its space programme and the rocket falls into disrepair.

[m ] - Era 1976
06/24: World's largest city, Midgar, is built, and becomes the location of eight of ShinRa's new Mako reactors. The city is run entirely by ShinRa, no longer just a weapons manufacturing company, and their headquarters is established on the upper plate.

[m ] - Era 1977
Jenova is discovered by Professor Gast. The Jenova Project is started and a base for all related experiments is set up in the basement of a house in Nibelheim. A further two ShinRa scientists, Professor Hojo and Lucrecia, are sent to assist the Project, as is Vincent Valentine of the Turks, whose job it is to handle any problems that arise. During the Project, Vincent falls in love with Lucrecia, but she becomes pregnant with Hojo's child. Hojo sees this as an opportunity to further the Project and injects the fetus with Jenova cells, causing Lucrecia to fall irrepairably ill.

[m ] - Era 1979
Professor Gast, sickened at what the Jenova Project has become, leaves. He meets an Ancient, a woman called Ifalna, who he marries and settles down with in Icicle Inn.

Hojo and Lucrecia's child, Sephiroth, is born. He is the first of Hojo's subjects to survive being injected by Jenova cells and is something of a super-human as a result. Vincent, still retaining his feelings for Lucrecia, confronts Hojo about his treatment of her, but is incapacitated and put to cold sleep.

[m ] - Era 1985
02/07: Aerith Faremis is born to Gast and Ifalna in Icicle Inn. Twenty days later, Hojo and accompanying ShinRa soldiers break into their home. Ifalna and Aerith are taken away to become to subjects of further inhumane experiments at the hands of Hojo, and Gast is killed trying to save them.

[m ] - Era 1986
08/19: Cloud Strife is born in Nibelheim. He grows up in a small house with only his mother and is something of a loner, although he desperately seeks acceptance among his peers.

[m ] - Era 1987
05/03: Tifa Lockhart is born in Nibelheim and is raised as an only child by her mother and father. She is popular and outgoing, loved and admired by everyone, but she is not close friends with Cloud.

[m ] - Era 1991
10/20: Yuffie Kisaragi, the daugter of Wutai's leader Godo, is born. Around this time, ShinRa go to war with Wutai for not adhering to their commands.

[m ] - Era 1992
Ifalna manages to escape from ShinRa with Aerith, now aged seven. However, she dies at a train station in Midgar, after imploring a passerby called Elmyra Gainsborough to take care of Aerith. Elmyra, who has been living on her own in Sector 5 since her husband went to fight in the war, adopts Aerith, and the pair live together contentedly. Elmyra realizes that Aerith is not a normal child and possesses certain powers, as hard as she tries to hide them. ShinRa sends the Turks to recapture Aerith, but even as a young child she manages to escape them.

[m ] - Era 1995
Tifa's mother dies. Distraught, Tifa ventures into the Nibel Mountains, pursued by Cloud. The pair fall and while Cloud is unharmed, Tifa falls into a week-long coma. Cloud is blamed for Tifa's injury and he becomes even more distant from the rest of the town's residents. He is still infatuated with Tifa and starts to hear rumors about Sephiroth, who becomes his idol.

[m ] - Era 1998
Zacks leaves Gongaga to join SOLDIER. He makes it to First Class and fights alongside the legendary Sephiroth. In Midgar, he meets Aerith, and they become young lovers. During this time, Zacks writes a letter home to his parents about SOLDIER and his girlfriend, and that's the last time they hear from him.

[n ] - Era 2000
Cloud, aged 14, leaves Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. Before he goes, he makes a promise to Tifa to be her hero and rescue her if she's ever in trouble. Tifa finds herself thinking about Cloud more and more. She becomes an expert martial artist under the instruction of Zangan and also qualifies as a guide for the mountain trails. Cloud never makes it into SOLDIER but is too ashamed to return to Nibelheim and so becomes a regular ShinRa soldier.

[n ] - Era 2001
02/30: People against ShinRa form AVALANCHE. The war between ShinRa and Wutai ends.

(Technically, there are only ever twenty-eight or twenty-nine days in February, but 02/30 is definitely the date included in the timeline.)

[n ] - Era 2002
The Nibelheim incident occurs. Tifa's father dies and Tifa goes to Midgar. Cloud and Zacks become test subjects for the Jenova Project and are imprisoned in the basement of the ShinRa Mansion.

[n ] - Era 2003
Marlene is born to Barret's best friend, Dyne and his wife Eleanor. Although Corel is traditionally a coal-mining town, ShinRa manages to persuade them to convert to Mako energy. However, when Barret and Dyne are out of town one day, ShinRa set fire to Corel. En route back to the town, Barret and Dyne are ambushed by ShinRa soldiers and both lose an arm each. Dyne falls off a cliff and Barret believes him to be dead. Back at Corel, Barret discovers both Myrna and Eleanor are dead. Marlene, however, is alive and unharmed, so Barret takes her in as his own.

The Gongaga incident occurs, in which the town is ruined and the reactor destroyed entirely.

[n ] - Era 2006
Zacks and Cloud escape from Nibelheim. Cloud is all but insane as a result of being exposed to high levels of Mako and injected with Jenova cells. Zacks, who is physically stronger and had a far better reaction to the experiments, is mentally fine, and he manages to hitch them a ride on the back of a truck to Midgar.

[n ] - Era 2007
10/05: AVALANCHE's leader is assassinated and AVALANCHE all but disbands. Barret recreates the resistance group though it is much smaller than before. Tifa also joins and their hideout becomes the basement of her bar, 7th Heaven.

ShinRa soldiers catch up with Zacks and Cloud outside Midgar. They shoot Zacks repeatedly (to death), during which time Cloud manages to escape. They do not pursue him as he appears to be in no fit state of consciousness.

Cloud manages to flee as far as the Sector 7 train station, where Tifa finds him, incoherent and slumped against a wall. As far as she knows, she hasn't seen him since he left Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. She takes him back to her bar, 7th Heaven, and persuades Barret to hire him for an AVALANCHE mission.

12/09: The game begins!

Ah, thank you for the info ^^

Gave answers to some other stuff I wondered about too o_O

Then for 2 years, Cloud and Zack are test subjects before they break out.

Actually, Cloud and Zack were test subjects for four years. If you play Crisis Core, Aerith
sends him a letter saying it's been four years since she'd last seen him.

So here's where I'm confused: Did Tifa find Cloud at the train station right at that time, or was it later on?

The present time of FFVII, Cloud is 20 years old, so what happened during those 2 years after Zack was killed?

Zack escapes with Cloud in early September of 2006. Zack then dies at the very end of September 2007, a full year later. This makes Cloud 21 when Zack dies, not 18. Tifa then finds Cloud 3 months later in early December, close to the start of FF7.

EDIT: Gah, you posted before I was finished with my answer :gasp:
