I would like to know how the fuck he cries a lot??? Man I'm sorry but I see shit like this and it burns me up to no end at all. Tidus cried ONCE throughout the whole frickin' game and that was because he had to kill his own father. Given his situation and you had to do what he had to do, don't you think you'd be a bit of a reck as well? Tidus is actually a protagonist who isn't stoic or angsty for a change. You know,I don't see people calling Cloud a crybaby for crying over Aerith's death and I don't see people calling Squall a crybaby when Rinoa's helmet busted in space and Squall had a tear stream down his face, so why call Tidus a crybaby because he cried over having to kill his own father?

Anyway, back to the original topic at hand, I adore Tidus and I think some of his quotes are beyond adorable. I love how he's so stuck on protecting Yuna.

"We'll protect Yuna from anyone anywhere!"

"That's it! Kimahri! You rock!"

Actually I do. lol But I agree with you, Tidus is not a crybaby. He's very emotional and very loud about it... and he reminds me of Doug Funny (if you ever watched the show) because you see him going to do something stupid and it ends up embarressing the both of you. But you have to love the character, he's just too good natured not to.

And so I don't get my own topic, off topic, (which would be dumb of me) I've got a few more moments of "Oh man, I wish he didn't just say that..."

1. When he's talking to the Al Bhed Psyches and he realizes they don't speak English. "Oh... right then... well I... uh... yea... "

First off, it's sad when he says that last line if you know what's coming. It chokes me up. It's really sad. Also, if you like the girl, don't talk about hot girls you remember from home, ok pal? Cripes, I'm girl-retarded but I think that's one of those unwritten rules I read somewhere (I get the joke!) ya know? He's trying to be nice but talk about not finding those right words buddy boy. Yikes. He might as well have just said "When you're in a fight, don't ask yourself if Lulu's a Double D-Cup or just a regular one. Ok Yuna?" :rolleyes:Lovable doof

anyhow... i thought his voice acting was alright, but i like very "american" voice acting
but i can't remember any quotes except "live and let live!" i used the flee command a lot :P
especially at those huge robots... they hit hard, think i wasted more phoenix' on defeating that sh*t then on defeating Sin
 
the frying pan one is ok in my books, didnt really make sense when i first heard it though, also the laughing, NO:|
 
I cant remember any quotes at this time but I know that laughing scene was just annoying! As soon as it gets to it I mute tv :D
 
See I have mixed feelings on the laughing scene, but I'm more for it rather than against it.

Me and Aztec played through that part af ew days ago and he wanted to Mute the sound, but I made sure the volume was up. Why? Because I think that's one of the main parts of the game where Yuna and Tidus bond together. Sure the laughing outloud forcibly was a bit...awkward or "weird" as Tidus said, but the laugh that they share afterwards is sincere and heartfelt, and there are starting to draw closer and closer.

Another of the great things I love about that as well is that in this game especially, like FFIX, you can see the almost concrete progression of the infatuation between the 2 main characters.
 
I feel like screaming this every time I hear that:

Well lets see, jecht just says that he cried alot when he was younger, i think that is where everyone is getting that from... but yeah, he only did cry once during the game, but i think it is there that we get it from
 
Yeah that's what I've been saying too. Everyone makes references about how he cried in the PAST, when he was a KID (10 years ago = Tidus 7-8 years old).

Heck, that moment at the end though deserves a tear. How would you feel if you were in his shoes? He is putting a final end to his father's life. He's putting everything in the past behind him and all teh hatred, the fights, the mental abuse, the "walking in his shadow" feelings, all put to rest.

Even when he says he hates him, it's before they fight the final battle. After the battle Tidus says it once more, but instantly runs to catch Jecht before he can hit the ground. The most touching lines in the whole game are exchanged:

Tidus
"Right...We've got a job to do, don't we?"

Jecht
"Good. That's right. You are my son, after all."

Tidus
"You know...for the first time, I'm glad...
...to have you as my father."

...and you can finally see that things could have been different between 2 characters with very similar interests, but were sooo sooo diffferent in so many ways of personality.
 
A bit of both. I think "Out of the frying pan and into the freezer" is just a bad line. But the forced laughing bit, was just horrible. As for all the quotes, they're all real. The only one that hasn't been was my last one from Dr. Zoidberg of Futurama... who isn't in the game, obviously.

heh, I looked that up... I gotta say Izzy's axe is pretty bitching. And it is ironic his clothes look so similar. Why do you hate Tidus that much? I mean he could be annoying... but he's not that bad.

the laughing scene at first was almost unbearable, but after it was over, it was a bonding moment between yuna and tidus. presentation and voice acting could have been better.

the thing i disliked the most and maybe its just me; was toward then end when he kept on saying that it was HIS story. like everyone else standing there was unimportant. i mean, i guess it was overall his story but shutup about it already.
 
I like Tidus and all but some of his lines made me go o_O. Most of them have already been mentioned here but here's one.

If you talk to Rin on the airship he will tell Tidus about how Yuna's parents met. After he tells the story Tidus says.
"Ooh! Sounds like love!"

Sorry but you just don't say that about some girl's parents when you like her.

There was also a line that was delivered incredibly fast. It was at the temple where you fight Seymore. Some guards come in and Tidus says:
"It's not our fault! Seymore attacked us first!"

That line wouldn't be bad a all but the VA delivers it like this:
"IT'SNOTOURFAULTSEYMOREATTACKEDUSFIRST!"

Me and my boyfriend make fun of it.

And any line from any character during battle. They are just too cheesy.
 
lol That happened the other day too. Shoot, I wish I could remember the line. I think it was in Djose Temple. It was two seperate lines that just weren't spaced right. That happens a lot with long pauses inbetween sentences but not often when they're smooshed together like that. It was kinda funny.

That long spacer in between lines bugs me too. "Hello my name is Rin" .... .... .... ..... .... ... .... ... "I am the owner of this establishment"... .... .... ... .. "Pleased to meet you"
