Tidus or Vaan

so, now that a lot of people have probably bought FFXII and played enough of it, I just have one question for you guys. Who do you like better, Tidus or Vaan? Why?
 
I always thought Tidus was a little ghetto, but that's just my opinion. I would have to beat the game first before making a statement. How many people here have beat FFXII so far?

I beat the game already Majere07, and so has one other but I cant remember there name lol. Dont know about anyone else, no one posted that they have beat it yet other than us two.
 
I haven't really seen much character development for Vaan yet but I just got past Raithwall's tomb, so it's probably going to get better. But right now I'd have to say Tidus, despite the fact that he used to get REALLY irritating when he whined.
 
I'm on Mt. Bur-Omisace or whatever it's called. I like Vaan better than Tidus. Vaan is less girly than Tidus. I also like the that the whole story line doesn't revolve around him (Vaan).
 
Vaan's attitude is a lot more masculan. However, he definitely looks a lot more femmie than Tidus does. I hate them both. They need to get back to the old school main characters; Cecil and Cloud are definitely superior to that of Tidus and Vaan.
 
Although I only started playing the series at FFVII, I've noticed the change in the main characters as well. in VII and VIII, you've got Cloud and Squall, real hard-ass, strong and silent loner types. Then in IX, X and XII (I skipped XI and the crap that was X-2) you've got Zidane, Tidus and Vaan who are totally the opposite.
 
yea...i am gunna have to agree, cecil, cloud, and squall were way more bad a**, but vaan is proving to be way cooler than he looked. I think Tidus came off as a cooler character but i haven't finished FFXII yet!
 
Who is Cecil? The main char. in FFVI? Did they happen to re-release this game in PS or PS2 format? Those're the only consoles I own..

ALL the Final Fantasy's have been re-released BUT ONE. Final Fantasy III and that WILL BE RELEASED in the US on Nov 14th 2006 ^_^ 5 days from now MWAHAHAH

Final Fantasy 1 and 2 have been re-released on the playstation and then again on the GBA

Final Fantasy III is being released nov 14th 2006

Final Fantasy IV was released on the PSX and released again on the GBA last year. (US: December 12, 2005) AND ontop of that, was released WAY WAY back in the day (US: October 1, 1991) as Final Fantasy II for the super NES. Reason being named II and IV was due to the fact that FF II and III were never rleased in the US when they came out.

Final Fantasy V was never released in the us as well untill it was remade for the PSX as well. And just recently (US: November 6, 2006) was re-released on the GBA again ^_^

Final Fantasy 6 was released in the US as Final Fantasy III again, with the other FFs not being released in the US. Also released on the PSX as. Ontop of ALL THAT, they are releaseing Final Fantasy VI on the GBA as well. Its comming out in Japan on December 31st. No date on the US version yet.

So thats the break down in FF serires for ya. Go out and get the other Final Fantay's so you can call your self a REAL FINAL FANTASY FAN!!!!!
 
also forgot to add that if your going to buy the ones for the PSX you get 4 games total.

Final Fantasy Anthology - Contains Final Fantasy V and VI. In this collection you get to play the first release of V that has never been released in the US till this came out.

Final Fantasy Chronicles - You get Final Fantasy IV and the ever bad ass Super NES game, Chrono Trigger!!!!! Another BAD ASS game by Square Enix!!!!
 
well this thread seems to have gotten off track... o_O... so I shall putit back on it. I like Vaan way better, hes so much less whiny, heactually does stuff topiss off the people he hates. He may be dumb at some times, like when he asks fran her age... (which i think is a valid question) But atleast he can fight.

I dont see how it went off track. He asked a valid questiona and should get a valid answer.

Anyway Vaan is better. Tidus is a damn cry baby panzy sinivling craby patty. 0.o
 
Well we started about who is better than we got into the re-release of iii and and the psx and other things, it was just kinda not the point of the thread, and he could have made a new thread in a different forum about it.
 
It has EVERYTHING to do with the damn thread. Read the quote. And read other post about other chars that are better. God damn
 
They need to make a sequal to Final Fantasy IV that entirely focuses on Kain. Three cheers for Kain!
 
They're both way too whiny. They need to go back to Squall and Cloud like characters who, while they may have been emotionless wack-jobs for most of the game, didn't complain all the time and act like they're on their period.

I have it was fun and my statement is that if i had to choose between them it would b Vaan becuase Tidus was really whiny but so was Vaan but not as bad as Tidus and i agree with u mike they need to go back to Cloud and Squall like characters. Those characters made FF better in a way and it surprised me when i played ff8 that squall changed completely when he met Rinoa.
 
Ok, I love badass men, but I love femmy guys too. The break is nice and I don't mind it much. I mean, I wouldn't want to deal with someone like Dante (DMC) all the time. Vaan or something would be a nice 'change'. I find people who are too wanting of the badass character are a bit too headstrong and close-minded in a way.

You should always try to open up to the possibilities. If you don't like it, that's your opinion. I personally didn't like Squall that much. I didn't like FF8 as a whole actually.

But anyway, back to Tidus and Vaan. I thought Tidus was pretty cool. I mean, people keep complaining on how he whines but I don't think he was that whiney was he? Maybe I need a reminder... But I gotta admit, even my own mum liked what Tidus looked like on the cover of FFX. Character wise, I have to say I didn't grow onto Tidus as much as I did with say, Yuna or something. Think of the things Yuna had to go through at the end. Pretty devastating if you ask me.

As for Vaan. I love him far more than Tidus. I actually have some sort of attachment to Vaan. He can be serious and quite naive at the same time. I may even judge his gender as being quite that of a hermaphrodite (not a tranny people, different words, different meanings). I don't mean it to offend anyone or Vaan of course. I also like Vaan as a person. True to life and honest, especially with the "age" thing with Fran. He has a curiosity and is willing to ask the question for it.

Also, Vaan seems more original of a character. Never seen anyone with that hairstyle for one. XD As for Tidus, he totally bleached his hair or something, I mean, look at his parents.
