thoughts??

Well then, with thinking like that, I suppose the world WILL end before it happens.

Politicians don't do things because they benefit the country, they do things because it benefits themselves. Democrat or Republican the credo isn't "Serve Your Country" the credo is "Serve Your Self". If thinking like that doesn't end, then there will never be change at all.

Party finger pointing is just pointless, pardon the pun. If kids in Kindergartners can do it, just image how long grown men who should be more mature can.

It's really sad that our country has become a hot potato passed between parties because one day it's going to get dropped.

More like... the U.S. will end before that happens. And I won't be surprised if it does. It's called non-linear dynamics, which drastically cause the chaotic flow of everything from stellar formation, to evolution, to the rise and fall of empires, to the human mind. And since novelty in the historical context is accelerating faster and faster, it kinda looks grim for the States.

Or the chaos theory. The big bang repeats itself, you know. Gravity folds back just as it expanded.
Either way, the world will end when Americas over. It goes for any superpower. This so called war in Iraq is hardly a war at all. If we went to war with China, for example, BOOM. There goes the hemispheres.
America won't go out without a bang. Would you?

Democrats are the lesser of two evils. If it's like choosing lethal injection over the electric chair, than so be it. As it stands now, unemployment offices, food stamps, fair housing, etc. are only possible with Democrats. Republicans would cut out the middle-class if they took over. It was slowly happening with Bush in office.

Now ask yourself: are you middle-class, or high-class?

Okay, but ask yourself "Are Democratic political figures middle class?". Now answer no because they aren't. No person is going to do something that screws themselves over. Some are just more obvious about it than others.

Besides, putting our government in the hands of what anyone considers "the lesser of two evils" is the last thing that should be done. Instead we should attempt to change it. And don't say it's possible or that that will never happen, because history shows it happening over and over again. All it take is for people to get pissed off enough about the way things are going.

The United States is not America, it's the United States. Mexico and Canada are not part of us and neither is South America I don't know if you intended that to sound as it did, as though we are the only country on the whole of two continents that has any importance, but if you did, then it's not true. That attitude is one of the reason that so many other countries detest us.

If the United States goes down, it will likely go down at its own hands and not someone elses. The only bang that happens will be here.

Now ask yourself: why do you have to choose between lethal injection and the electric chair when you've done nothing wrong and could just walk away from either?

Sum1sgruj... the only bang that might come out of this is from within America itself -- when its banging its head against a wall. Back when the British Empire ruled the world, everyone thought that its downfall would come with a bang. But as history has it, the British Empire fell with a whimper. I certainly hope the U.S. and China will not engage in an all-out war, because like you said... it will be the end of the world as we know it. But it might not happen that way. Not all countries must fall because of an external force. If it falls economically then that's it. When the Soviet Union was on the brink of collapse in the 1980s, it didn't unleash all its nuclear payload on the world now, did it?

And when that change happens, it will happen rather unexpectedly -- in accordance with the beautiful principle of chaos. People will go... "What? When the f*** did that happen?"

And Ayumi, when I said America, I didn't mean that the U.S. consists of the entire North American continent. I'm not that stupid. D I meant the United States.

This will be my last post, because I don't play word games//

Noone said that this country has a shining hope. It's not going to thrive. It's the youngest country, and if this is happening already, then it's over.
With power comes responsibility, and this country has seized it's right to have any. It's being punished through the hands of fate.
And the reason they have money is because they are employed by their state/gov't. Are you saying that you can only be rightous by refusing a nice check? They're in the fire just as anyone else.
Some just get carried away. It doesn't mean tht all of them are dirty politicians.

Walking away from a fire does not make it go out. And if you try to extinguish it.. well, go ahead and try.

I wasn't referring to any of your comments. And I wasn't calling anyone stupid. I was simply pointing out that that is an attitude that some people have and it only lends strength to the arrogant United States citizen that so many people from other countries have bought into.

So even if it was directed at you, I wasn't calling you stupid.

Hey, chill... I wasn't insulted or anything :) Plus, I think it was me; I'm the one who said "America" when referring to the U.S.. So I just thought that that was aimed at me. It's cool.

And just for the record, America can only be fixed through one or the other. This country is not going to re-invent itself. The world will end before that happens//

That's the comment I was referring to with my America argument. I didn't notice you said it all. And I'm not upset, I just like to explain myself. But my point is valid for any one.

Yes, but if you can raise your own paycheck, it's a little different isn't it? Any human being in that situation is going to be tempted to just that. And then when that's not enough, well why not take money from people to get what THEY want done. It's human nature.

Two, you never walk away from a fire without trying to put it out. If my house were on fire, and there was even one person inside of it, I would risk my life to put it out. Now what about a country that has millions of people? Is it not worth it?

Just as a friendly heads-up, this thread is about Beck and his rally, for the conservative agenda, so lets not stray away from the original topic at hand, okay? I haven't searched through the threads, but there are plenty of political based threads that are better suited for voicing your opinions on which party you prefer and what their affect is on the United States. The debating is pretty strong and full, and I do like that, I'm just saying lets keep it about the original subject.

I'll give my final thoughts on this. Beck and Palin just made a rally to try to keep the momentum turning in the Republican favor. The Democrats did this same thing for Obama in 2008 when Bush was coming out of power. It's pretty amazing that some folks in this thread are that outraged by this rally, it's something that always happens when the majority party power flip-flops.

This particular rally is only a big deal because there are many people disgruntled about how Obama and company are running the country, and rightfully so. This rally is just to assure that the Republicans take over the House and Senate this year, which will undoubtedly happen. This should make things much better for now, because checks and balances will be in order. The scale is so tipped in the Democrats favor that they can walk all over us and we just have to take it dry.

When Obama gets impeached or gets elected out in 2012, then the scales will be tipped in the Republican, though I'm not sure if they'll have enough to push everything they want through like the Democrats are doing now. This complete flip-flop isn't good either, though I feel the Republicans will do a much better job at not porking us than the Democrats are now. Ideally, I would prefer for the heirarchy to have a Republican President with Democrats holding both (or at least 1, the House or Senate).

So in conclusion, I think the rally served a great purpose for this country. Naturally hardcore Democrats want to shit all over this, and that's fine, but I'm glad Beck and Palin are keeping their foot on their throats.

Oh shit, I got something else to say about this 'rally' :awesome:
What are Republicans preserving? What was this rally really about?
