The Perfect Body

Let me shed some light on this for you. You all have forgotten on that the society today is based on appearance and how your social status is going. Everything revolves around you appear to everyone else and it is displayed as nothing else matters. It as thought the materialistic and physical aspects of society get to us and that is how we run our lives. With the wide array of surgeries and distributions of drugs, it is easy to find what we are looking for.

Sure, love your body and all that crap; however, what if you are insulted every single day on the way you look? The way your body is. You tried dieting but it fails. You tried everything else, it fails also. You are left with surgery. It seems that if it really truly makes you happy in the society today, it might as well be done. Sure, it is inhumane and we are toying with what has been giving us, but it doesn't matter when everyone else still hates you for it. Wouldn't you do the same in that situation? Most likely.

I also conclude that many people feel it needs to be done by witnessing the advertisements and all. Sure, they succumb to greater corporate giants, but it is in their will. We have freedom to choose what we want to do to our own bodies.
My thoughts exactly. Society offers a lot of pressure to "look amazing," and I'm sure you all know it. At the lunch table for instance, I sit with a couple of girls who are, to put it politely, gossipy. Every day, if there's not a comment upon someone's looks, I am shocked. A vast majority of the time it's about some sort of negative change, such as "what was she thinking dying her hair that colour?!" or something as ridiculous as "Oh dear, did you see what colour shirt she is wearing? She should be shot!" {Here proceeds their giggles and my look of disappointment} And it's not just about commenting friends either - complete strangers and actors, models... "He's so hot, but that mustache! Someone tell him!" One can't deny the high levels of criticism received these days.

So it's not too surprising to see someone turning to surgery for a solution. If you're pounded on every day about the appearance you possess, I'm sure you'd do all you could to change it. When it comes down to it, a person just wants to be accepted in society.

The "perfect" body differs as its opinion, yes. But this is heavily influenced on the current trend: changing yes, but not so fast as to have a new concept every few years or so (I'm not referring to jean styles or the like, rather the more general form of appearance: currently well-built muscle and tan for males and thin/curvy females.) Come to think of it, who changes the more permanent forms of appearance to something that's -not- the trend? As humans, we (or most of us) strive to fit in and belong. If pressured, we'll naturally try to conform.
Just weigh the pros and cons please - is a knife or vacuum to your body really worth being like others? If you think it'll make you happier, go for it I guess.

As for me, I'm not the best-looking guy out there, that's for sure. I often get depressed over my looks, so I took to exercising like a maniac and eating healthier in these recent times. I'm not large, no - just way too conscious about my stomach (I want the rock-hard abs!) and arms. I'll give this time and see if I'm satisfied with the change. Surgery is something on my consideration list when I get the capability for it.
