What do you think about battling the optional espers. I've not finished the game, I only happen to get Shemmazai (is it like this?), but I've got (Beside Belias, Mateus, Shemmazai) Adrammelech and Zalera (Zalera is too weak, but kills with one attack). I'm now fighting Zeromus, Exodus and Chuchulainn (Is it like this?). The anti-magic field that Zeromus has is bad for me, since I use Bubble on my characters (6000+HP, with bubble) and my X-Potions just Recover 2000HP, Vaan is Level 40 with Zodiac Spear equipped, then Haste, Bravery and Berserk.
Now, Exodus, the anti-item field, don't care about that. I don't use many items, so... But the part that he stays immune to attacks, I don't like it.
and Chuchulainn, really don't like the magic field he has.
What do you thought about the battles?

also i have all the espers except 3 i fink.. all the ones mentioned above i have.. what would be the best one to get next.

party is lv60-lv50

p.s where do u get bubble? i havent got it and ive completed the main story..

I'm pretty sure I don't have as many as you. Though I havn't completed the game. Exedus was a pain at first till I learned to wait the immune spell out. With Curajajajaja whatever it was a breeze. I would like to get all of them but I want all the hunts the most. My quest ion is after you complete the game can you go back and get the optional Espers? You should be able to right??

I've collected them all. Zodiark was pretty challenging, in my opinion. I forget what thread it is in but someone posted a pretty good strategy for him. Kinda glad I beat him on my own though... without the cheapness. They were all relatively good battles.

My only real problem with the system is you could pretty much get them at any time or no time at all. It was all optional and there were no hints or suggestions on how or where to get them. You may ask why that matters... but it means you pretty much had to find a guide if you were looking to get all the espers because you certainly weren't going to get them all on your own. Heck, you wouldn't even known how many there were to get (although if you played FFT that might not be the case since there were 13 references all over that game)

A lot of times I'd go up against an esper like Cuchalain and I'd get my head bashed in. So I'd go and level and level and level and level... and then I'd come back and kill him in a few hits. It took all the fun out of the battle. I did this for a lot of different espers. Exodus and Ultima were the only two that were really fair challenging battles. I probably was too high a level when I beat Zodiark but I got stuck when he had about 1/4th HP left. That was a biatch when he put up sheilds against both physical and magic attacks.

The espers weren't that bad for me, I think I did the later ones except for zodiark and maybe Ultima at the right levels. One thing to point out, it doesnt matter if any esper has an anti-magic field on...for boss fights you should almost always have Bubble Belt on (buy it from the clan provisioner if you are higher up in rank), first of all if you have it on when you get raised you have your 2x HP right away making it easier to survive the first bit after coming back. Also with the belt on you dont gotta constantly waste time casting bubble on your characters instead of putting other useful buffs or doing damage to the boss.

When the esper becomes immune to magic or physical attacks you guys do know that if you wait it out that the immunity goes away right? Basically all you gotta do at that point if you rely on the form of damage he's immune to is just wait it out, if you're having trouble healing your characters you could have them get close together and spam cura(ja) until the immunity goes away.

The one thing I didn't like about the espers, specifically ultima was finding them. I think pretty much all of them except for her had some clues regarding where to find them, but the idea of someone wandering through that mess for the hope of a boss being at the end there really isnt a cool idea.

I hardly ever use them, but it was one of my favorite obtaining Summons methods by far. I loved the detailedness of them in the beastiary and as you obtained the Story-line ones as well.

However, going out and finding the ones that were not story-line was quite a challenge at times. I only lost once (to Zoadiark) but eventually got around to obtaining him a few weeks later after my anger subsided. (Weird story actually; I got Zodiark while I was sleep-walking...long story...)

But yes, I lvoed the optional ones, but I just wish they had more use.

Now that I think of it, most of the people that I know...dun use the summons-aeons-gf's-etc in every final fantasy; magic and phisical damage is the commonly used stuff. I wonder if S.E knows this fact.. I mean, how to make the summons more fun tu use, and useful of course.

I was goin to say something but I forgot ._.
