Darkblade, Garnet and I have been discussing this all night over MSN. We have decided to introduce a staff appraisal scheme for the staff members here at FFF. For those of you who don't know, a staff appraisal scheme allows employers (The Site Owners) to communicate with the employees (The rest of the staff). I don't mean chatty communication, I mean reports, criticism, praise, worries or anything else that may be on the mind of the employer or employee. We believe this will encourage members to speak up for themselves and will spark motivation with the staff.

In this thread, you should find an attached file, named "Staff Appraisal Scheme - Members Template Version 1.1". I took the liberty of creating the templates, for both the members and the Administrators. This document is the template for the report that each member can fill out for any member of staff, preferably, one report for each member of staff. It's far more beneficial to talk about each of us, rather than only one of us. It gives a more representative result. It's quite self-explanatory when you open up the document, but if you have any doubt, feel entirely free to let me know.

The first option is to name the member of staff you are reporting. You can give your report on any staff member other than Darkblade, Garnet and Sephiroth. The Administrators will be giving the reports on the staff and are therefore precluded from being reported on. A full list of the staff can be viewed here.

Your reports will be taken into consideration when the Administrators write their finals on each of us. We have not yet decided if we will release these finals to the public, but I will let you know if we decide to go for it.

Now, this will be a regular occurance, possibly every two months. However, the first deadline for all reports to be in is [January 30th 2007]. When you have filled in your report, they should be sent to Darkblade, Garnet or Sephiroth by PM by this date.

If you have any suggestions, complaints, questions or otherwise doubts over any aspect of this scheme, contact myself. Otherwise, we look forward to hearing from you all.
 
Ok, I know that this was made with the best of intentions but; what if a member uses this report method in order to flame at a current staff?


Give me some time to analize these questions, I need to do a lot of thinking.
 
One question i do not understand fully:

5. Do you think that this member of staff deserves to have a position on Final Fantasy Forums?<o:p></o:p>

Being a staff member don't they already have a position on FFF? Maybe i am getting the wrong meaning of 'position'.

Other than that i would gladly fill these out when i have time.
 
When he said position he meant that if that staff member truly deserves the current position that the named staff member is filling at the moment.

It means that if you think that the named staff members is good enough when doing his job.
Quote to myself:
For example 1 ( a fake situation):

Staff A sees flames (insults against a member, etc, etc...) but does nothing about it.

Members B and C keep flaming at members Y and Z and thus they spam the forum.

Members Y and Z gets mad and leaves the forum.

Overall activity is decreased. FFF gets bad reputation.

Example 2:

Staff A banes member B without any reason.

Friends of that member, members C and D get mad, lost faith on these forums and left.

The Staff A gets punished but still the FFF gets bad reputation.

Example 3 ( A good Staff)

Staff A sees spam, he warns the member B and if the situation gets worse, staff A talks with the other staff members.

The situation gets solve, member B gets a third warning and if te member continues with the spam, the member B gets banned.

Example 4 (good staff)

Staff A sees spam and avoids creating more staff by closing the thread. Staff A sees advertising threads, staff A closes the thread. Staff A sees flamings against a certain member. Staff A reports the flames and discusses the situation with the other staff members.
Etc, etc, etc,......

And that's the answer to your question, next.

The question was intended to ask the members if they thought if the member of staff they are marking is fit to be staff member. Sure, they're already on the staff, but do you think they deserve to be there? Does that clear things up?

If I have seen someone break the rules, have I warned said member, have I reminded him of the rules, have I banned persistant rule-breakers? That kind of thing.
 
OK, i just done all of the Global Moderators. I don't know if i will do everybody because i ahven't seen a few of the mods for ages.
 
You could still write a report based on what you have seen, or what you have not seen, if you know what I mean. (Oh, look at that, I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!)

Welcome to the Club :lol:

Getting back to the point, all members are encouraged (not forced) to fill the The New Staff Appraisal Scheme. If you want to change something to help the FFF (refering to members) here is your chance.

You can write your report based on a single staff or a report in which you express what do you think (not flames, be serious) of every single member of the staff, whatever they are active or not.
 
Yeah, you don't need to raise awareness about it in the same thread, the thread which I explained everything in with my first post. Methinks Squall wants +1 to his post count ;) Everyone, please just try and post here if you have any questions, from now on.
