Now this is a subject that I have always found fascinating and quite amazing. And until recent events I have always held this wonder to my own imagination. Last night I had an amazing dream and I figure it might be something worth discussing.
As some of you might know I work and live in China in this point of my life. However, I just came back from visiting family and friends in America.
Now in my dream (which usually I control anyway), I was still in America. Somehow my mind was able to extract my waking life details... and I was able to realize that I couldnt be in America, and remembered going back to China.
After realizing this in my dream, I thought that perhaps I would just awaken... but didn't. Instead I continued to control myself in the dream with the awarness that I was dreaming. Not only does it feel different, but it also feels more vivid.
I thought that anything goes in dream world (dont judge), but anyway I got into a physical action with a lady, and since it was "my" dream... it was not hard. All of the nervous and shy feelings of waking life were gone and I just walked up to some lady and started making out. I am amazed at how real it felt in this dream, was almost astonished even.
After this began... I woke up... or so I thought I did.....and everything goes blank.
After waking up for real, it has come to my understanding that I was having a dream within a dream. The phenomenon of this is that I remember nothing of the dream I woke up into, and all of the dream that precluded it.
This is not the first time my mind has slipped into wild dreams, in fact I dream quite often and sometimes very abstract.
Now I am a firm believer in the idea that people can be aware of dreams, and be perhaps 5 times more intelligent in them. This kind of goes hand in hand with the aspect that humans use around 10-20 percent of their minds when awake, and up to 60% while sleeping. This is intresting because we are not actually doing anything stressful in our sleep. I think that if the human mind could control and remember its dreamworld, then it would be possible to figure out advanced mathmatics that they could never while awake, cure diseases we never could cure while awake, and even stretch the limits of our own intelligence in philisophical, political, and world matters. Its a lot of speculation I know, but we do not know that much about the human mind.
I also have a theory that Dejavu is born from something that has to do with our dreams, perhaps that is why we remember sometimes and don't other times. This theory would also stretch over the possibility that our dreams have more to do with our waking lives then we actually know or think.
The last few paragraphs speculation and just wild theories, but they are fun none the less. Please share what your take on dreams are, and if you ever had any that stick for some reason.
