I've found a new hobby and this forum is going to be my new best friend, soon
I decided to write a Kingdom Hearts fan-fiction, after the FFVII one turned out to be a flop. I'd like everyone to note that this isn't the hard copy, and it's open to suggestions and criticism. Also, this is only a small section of Part I of my story.
This story will have two or three parts. Part I takes place between Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories. Part II takes place between Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. I am undecided on whether or not to make part II run into Kingdom Hearts II and elaborate more on what happened then, but we'll see.
If Part III does present itself to me, it will take place after the events of Kingdom Hearts II - a sequel, if you will.

This story takes place directly after the events of Kingdom Hearts. Sora, after defeating Ansem, has restored peace to all of the worlds. Kairi has returned to Destiny Islands, but Sora, Donald and Goofy still continue to search for Riku and The King, who were consequently left behind inside Kingdom Hearts after the door was sealed. The three begin their search swiftly after receiving a letter from Pluto with The King’s seal on the envelope. Currently, Riku and The King are trying to find a way out of Kingdom Hearts, but the swarm of Heartless are in their way.<o

‘Where are they all coming from!?’ Riku asked Mickey. A fully revived swarm of Heartless was approaching. It seemed that no amount of attacking could hold back the raging force.<o

‘The Darkness in people’s heart’s … we have a long fight ahead of us, Riku’ The King replied. His face was stern. Clearly, his mind was filled with an intricate web of thoughts, thoughts which Riku could never hope to comprehend.<o

‘Surely … surely there can’t be so many!’ Riku exclaimed.<o

‘Darkness lurks within every heart, therefore, the Heartless are either immortal or eternal, or so I was told. I’m not so sure about this, though. Sora seems to have a heart pure of light. Let’s hope it stays that way’ he answered. ‘He may be our only hope.’<o

The revived Heartless were approaching quickly. Weapons drawn, Riku and Mickey dashed into the centre of the Heartless swarm, side-by-side. The attacking Shadows stood no chance against a former Keyblade Master and The King, who was also a wielder of the Keyblade. Infinite numbers were leaping into the air, only to be knocked back by the swift strength of Riku. Riku truly was a remarkable human figure: only recently, he had embraced the power of Darkness, becoming Darkness itself. The Witch, Maleficent, had fooled him into surrendering to the Darkness, which inadvertently led to his mind and heart being corrupt and possessed by Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness. Somehow, his strong heart allowed him to return, once Ansem had been defeated.<o

‘There’s gotta be a better way to do this, Your Majesty’ Riku said. Looking around, Mickey noticed a small glimmer of light, towards the rear of the Heartless force.<o

‘I’ll take my chances with that! C’mon, Riku!’ The King bellowed, pointing to the light. The two dashed once again towards the glimmering light. Shadows continued to block their path, but powerful men, combined with powerful weapons and superior acrobatic skills proved to be more than a match for the ravenous swarm.<o

As the two were close to the strange light, a sudden rumbling caused them to cease all motion. Dark mist started to congregate all around Kingdom Hearts. Naturally, their path was now blocked. From the mist, emerged a head. The head continued to emerge rapidly and seemed to go on forever. More and more of a head could be seen, until glowing yellow eyes became visible. Then, a mouth was distinguishable. The colossal creature continued to pull itself from the mist, revealing more of his remarkably enormous body. Muscular pectorals were now bulging from the mist, but the significance of this feature was quickly diminished by the following part of his body – a heart-shaped incision, taking up the larger portion of this creature’s torso. Long, powerful legs finally emerged from the mist, consequently resulting in an enormous Heartless, blocking the path between Riku and The King to the glimmering light.<o

‘What the … what the hell is that!?’ Riku yelled. He found himself sweating heavily and clenching his Soul Eater tightly, eloquently tossing his silver hair from restricting his vision and examining the creature closer.<o

‘That … is a Darkside, Riku. It’s a powerful Heartless, created from hearts of pure Darkness. Ans- … I read about them in Ansem’s reports. We have to defeat it if we have any hopes of reaching that light!’ Mickey stated. Riku could sense that The King was evading an important fact, but did not hesitate forget this and attack the monster. The Darkside began to senselessly throw his arms around in front of him, attempting to injure Riku. ‘What a clumsy creature,’ Riku thought to himself, easily dodging this offence.<o

<o

Riku leaped into the air, landing on the now motionless arm of the Darkside. Keeping his steady balance, he rushed up the full length of the Heartless’ arm, aiming for the head.<o

‘Riku, be careful!’ Mickey called. The King drew his Keyblade and began to savagely attack the Darkside’s fist. What was it waiting for? He seemed to be pausing for breath, or thinking. Nevertheless, Mickey attacked as if there was no tomorrow. Maybe there wouldn’t be, if this Darkside could not be defeated.<o

Mickey glanced up and caught a glimpse of a shimmering congregation, high above the Darkside’s head. The matter appeared to be comprised solely of Darkness, similar to the mist, which the Darkside had originally emerged from. Mickey could only guess that the Darkside was slowly mustering this mass as an attack.<o

‘RIKU! ABOVE YOU!’<o

It was too late. The spherical mass of gathered energy commenced its descent. The Darkside withdrew from his stooping position abruptly, causing Riku to lose his balance and subsequently fall.<o

‘RIKU!’ Mickey called. It was futile – Riku landed flat on his back, motionless thereafter. The energy mass continued to descend. Mickey darted forwards, but a large, black hand stood in his way. Mickey suddenly found himself captive in a dark fist, helpless to Riku.<o
