How grrrr! In phaos in the areas below lv1 the magic pots are blimming annoying esp. when you have gambits on. Once you hit one.. jeez game over.. and trying to run away from then in the dark rooms where you dont know where you are going it hell ... jeeez so annoying!!!!!!

Whose with me??

What do you even get from defeating them.. so far ive bothered to take the time and effort of given them an elixer and i dont even know what i got in return via lp or exp from them...

P.S NEEEED black orbs...

I just run x), dun want to giv'em elixirs, no way :3

Anyways I was overleveled there so running in the dark was not a problem.

I'm almost with you their but I use the not Map one, and you can get the black orbs from thouse big fat tukys

If you wanna kill the pots turn off your gambits before you get there, then throw your quickening chains at it as much as you can. If you want to make effective use of all your characters quickenings you can use your first party member without using any of the other quickenings in that chain, after that is done right away have your second party member start his chain backed up by your now empty first party member, do the same with your third party member backed up by the other two. Then you can switch out players one at a time for your 3 reserve members so essentially you get a total of 4 shots at a full quickening chain and 2 partial quickening chains.

If you give them an Elixer, I think you can steal them back lol

aye, but nay... to lazy to do that -.- , and also he runs like a biatch so it's hard to catch him in the dark.

P.D: btw, is this magic pot teh same from the jojimbo cave in ffX ?

wait if you set your gambit to party leader target:attack and you dont attack the magic pot then it wont attack you back

HEY, i hate the magic pot to....but it REALLY amuses me to hit the mess out of him, and have an ALL OUT final battle against him. I havnet won yet, i think its b/c i refuse to use the quickenings to defeat him. I like doin it the hard way, with stragedy, and reflect(i really always use this against his magics....and ya know, i still die.lol). But one day, i will kill him.

Well, i first met the magic pot in an attempt to make it into the Umbra to get the "Magi Staff",,,,does anyone know where i can find it, i know its in the Umbra, and when i found the "guide book" at wal-mart, i looked it up, but i still couldnt find the "Luxxolid" in the Umbra....anyone know where i can find it.

re-magic pots

when your near them, press r2 for fleeing to stop gambits, give them an elixir, and are then dead easy to beat, crap drops ,but stops them casting flares and the like!:)

Wow....I went searching on this, because I've been trying to be good about not looking at strategy guides and such until AFTER I've figured something out. I beat my first magic pot this morning (first one encountered...), and although it wasn't easy, the method I came up with is dead simple. Once you walk in on one, turn off all cure/esuna gambits. 2, set a gambit to place reverse on ally: any. 3, equip all 3 members with thief's cuffs. 4, steal until you get an elixir. 5, set Foe: 1000 Needles for your attack gambit. Now sit back and watch the show. If you have bubble belts, equip everyone with them so you don't have to cast bubble. I think my gambits on all 3 members went like this:

Ally: Any - Phoenix Down (for speed's sake)
Ally: Any - Reverse
Ally: Any - Haste
Self: MP < 10% - Charge
Foe: Lowest HP - 1000 Needles
Buffs

It takes a little longer than burning quickenings, but it becomes amusing to sit back and watch as the thing aimlessly tries to kill your party members, meanwhile needling it to death. ;) I'm surprised no on else mentioned this method, works fine.

God, I hate those pots so much...
I almost never carry around any elixirs, the way I play. I was so glad when I finally beat Shadowseer.
