Anyone done this?

I started a new game few days ago and decided to do it (simply because levelling up can be a pain later on in the game, even with embroided tippets).

So yeah, got Vaan upto level 38 before going to Giza for the sunstone. Would've probably got him higher if I never got bored.

Just finished the Dreadnaught Leviathen(sp?) part of the game and have Vaan at level 39 now, Balthier & Fran level 39, Basch, Ashe & Penelo level 40. Larsa was at 39 when he went into the Lhusu Mines, and Vossler was at level 43 (I think).

Feels pretty weird just cutting down fiends and bosses this easily. Got a few Flame Staffs from Dustia aswell, so was running round the Estersand/Westersand at the beginning of the game with 33 attack power.

Not sure if I regret doing it or not now, been way to easy so far.

I've never done that trick. Instead I've been performing genocide on the local Ripe Rampagers and stealing Screamroots for the potion crate so that I can get X-Potions before I complete Raithwall's Tomb.
Only 2 more...

Never done that, is it much work?

Not much work, except stealing repeatedly from it.
Vaan couldn't steal from Ripe Rampager.

Vaan couldn't steal from Ripe Rampager.
Vaan couldn't steal from Ripe Rampager.

Vaan stole a Screamroot from Ripe Rampager!

The frustration of stealing repeatedly is easily remedied after you steal from it- just one-hit KO it and watch it fly 50 feet and land with its head stuck in the ground.

I hate having to repeatidly steal from something before getting anything, did it with that Rare Game turtle (can't spell it's name lol) for Scarletite for the Toursenol, gave up and just fished up the Scarletite I needed in the end lol. Well, I had too eventually, after a moment of madness where I ended up killing it ........

Oh, I did this trick on my first playthrough. I heard how much of a pain it was to level up so I just did it. And I blasted through the first part of the game.

The trick is pretty easy and it helps with early leveling which helps with earning/stealing a Gladius (which is easy to get early too) from a hunt or that katana which is dropped from a monster in giza. Also, it's a nice way to get a insane amount of gil by selling what Dustia drops such flame rod (i think).

I tried it, and the rest of the chapters/scenarios was a cake walk!

Yeah he drops flame staffs and books of orgain, the staffs sell for 1200 gil, and the books for 541 gil (I think) I ended up with a load of staffs, so sold most of them, kept two.

The Potion Crate is worth it, because you can get a nice amount of Hi-Potions and a few X-Potions. Depending on how early you are in the game, this can be very valuable.
