I'm a firm believer in "an eye for an eye" although that'll never be implimented (America is going soft). So I'd be happy seeing murderers and rapists being put to death, and even that is like pulling teeth in this country.
IMO, "killing one person" varies considerably. Too much in fact to blanket it with a life imprisonment. Imagine someone who decapitates (cuts the head off) someone, followed by disemboweling (removing the intestines) them and eating them? You think they deserve life imprisonment? Sorry, I don't.
no... the death penalty is something exclusively for people who made extreme crimes, like terrorists/dictators/ mass murderers... people who have done very horrible things
My bad Raptorg, sometimes I focus in on one part of a post and oversee other points. Still, I'm against life imprisonment for several reasons (depending on the case). It's eating away at U.S. dollars for them to live (depending on location) in the lap of luxury. If prison was what it used to be, cement walls, bars, and your roomie, I'd be for it. With libraries, gyms, tv lounges, video games, etc, sorry, that's not punishment, that's a vacation for these guys. I like what a sheriff down south (can't remember the exact location) is doing with his prisoners, putting them up in tents out in the heat, and having them work daily (ditch diggin type stuff). His philosophy is if the troops over seas can be put in this environment for the better of the US, so can the prisoners, and no one to this day has challenged him on it. Good man.
Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.
