The basics, then the middle, then advanced explanations

I realise my previous topic can go in here. Still, no one has really answered me.

Can someone please explain to me everything there is to know about Role Playing. I really want to get involved in this, but it's hard when you have no idea what you're doing.

A distinction must be made on this site between RPing and the RPG inferno.

On the top navigation bar there is the link to the RPG inferno. This is a game like area were you can make your character, battle, level up, and buy things. Also fight other members and play Triple Triad the card game from FFVIII.

This area of the forums are for another kind of RG. The type that is text driven. People start RPs which are like adventure stories and they are played by members and the story progresses as people post. There are rules to make sure things stay under control. This type of RP is quite hard to do however. Especially if you have no prior experiance as you have to stick to the plot and keep in character.

I can not give the best explanation on this myself though. Hopefuly someone more experianced wil be kind enough to explain it better.

Hmm, it seems that I've seen a few people ask what role playing is. I think I will make a role playing guide for everyone to know what it truly is.
