Tekken Wii U: Stage Editor, Online Multiplayer and Fight Money explained
Harada details Wii U fighter
New details about the tenatively titled Tekken Wii U have been revealed.
In a developer interview with chief game director, Katsuhiro Harada, a number of new features were detailed for the Wii U version of Tekken set to the first time the series has appear on a Nintendo home console.
Harada explained that players can use the touchscreen on the Wii U's controller to have a personal viewpoint of the fight whilst spectators can enjoy the battle taking place on the TV screen.
Practice mode will also be played on the Wii U's controller which according to Harada will allow "viewers to enjoy the battle while studying it".
Those who spotted the Tekken Wii U footage from the Nintendo E3 press conference will have noticed that players could draw on their opponent. When a player wins a match, he is given the opportunity to 'tag' the losers face with a doodle which Harada jokes might not disappear for up to a year.
Players will also be able to build up a list of friends they consider rivals whose names they can cross out using the touch screen when they've been defeated.
A Stage Editor will also feature allowing you to create unique obstacles to test players. Harada suggests these could be uploaded an fight money (an in-game currency) could be earned if the stage was popular with other players.
This money can be spent on hat, clothing and other accessories for your fighter.
