We all know that Technicks are dodgy, and sometimes, their effects are quite difficult to understand if they don't work, so this thread exists to explain/find out about them.

What does Sight Unseeing do? I get that it hits targets when blind, but it never does hit.

Hmm, not familiar with Sight Unseeing as I've never really had any uses for it. But well, do you have your gambit set-up as: Foe: Character Status = Blind...?

Also, have the gambit combination set before your other offensive gambits, but after your healing/reviving gambits.

I'm not sure if that would make a difference, but you could give it a try.

You've missed me completely. When I do use it, it just misses.
I only ever have all-round gambits, and then just give prioritized commands as and when needed.

Hmm, well then if it misses, then it misses. =/ I don't think you can really do anything about that. Maybe you can get a hit once in awhile, but for the most part...if it misses most of the time, then that tells me that particular technick is useless...

That's just me though.

Well it reduces the foe's HP to 1-8. And you can only use it when YOUR character is blinded, not the foe.

If the ability does not succeed that means that the enemy must be immune to it and you may not have enaugh points of magick and accuracy.

Tecknicks don't use up MP. Your characters accuracy only affects Physical attacks.

As everyone stated before, it only works if you're blind, not the enemy, but you.

We all know that. But it's not worth it if you have to be blind to use it.

Other confusing Technicks would Traveler and Horology. I understand that they are based on the number of steps taken and the time respectively but how can you tell when it does what?

Traveler deals damage according to your total steps taken. 99999 = 9999 damage. Once you have used it once, it resets.

Horology, well i've never used it.

I know you have to be blind to use it, and using it has only ever had two outcomes:

MISS

IMMUNE (this has only ever happened once, against the White Mousse hunt)

Effect of Sight Unseeing - User must be under Blind, otherwise tech misses. It will reduce hp of one foe to a single digit between 1~8 HP. Works wonderful for Poach attempts afterwards.

Traveller - good every now and then when your steps are built up but useless when your characters can take off 9999hp later in the game unless an enemy has a high defense.

Horology - I used this early in the game with Penelo who I used as a pure mage character. She is always equipped with rods so spells like Horology and 1000 needles are great ways to save on mp.

How many times have you used it? It probably doesn't hit all the time. And yes, most marks ARE immune to certain status effects.

I've tried it every time I've been blinded versus a mediocre enemy.
