Tales of Xillia is the latest installment in the Tales series. This one is different though and what I find most interesting about it is that the plot of the game changes depending on which main character you take.

Unlike previous games in the series, Xillia has two main characters. At the beginning of the game, player will choose one character and experience the rest of the game from that character's point of view. This is a really new approach with the Tales series and it excites me.

The characters can be seen at the official site: http://tox.namco-ch.net/

Jude is a teenage medical student on a secret Mission while Millia is a spirit magic user who is determined to protect the world. Either one you take will change the opening of the game.

More on the two lead characters: http://www.siliconera.com/2010/12/2...-tales-of-xillia-uses-swords-the-other-fists/

The battle system looks the same but focuses on Co-op attacks but all in all it looks similar to the other games.

Next Xillia trailer coming the 30th http://www.siliconera.com/2011/05/1...a-trailer-premieres-for-the-public-on-may-30/

It is supposed to be a great reveal since we only have seen one trailer so far.

I am definitely going to get this as I always loved the Tales series and.. we can only hope to see this for Europe and NA. The last batch of tales games were never localized although we are going to see Tales of Graces F finally which is nice.

Vesperia was the last great one I played and I am hoping this one lives up to that.

Ohh awesome I hadn't heard about a new Tales game coming out so this makes me a very happy girl!

I like the idea of the story changing with the character you pick! Kind of different to most of the other Tales games!

I'll wait to hear more!

I'm not sure how much I like the multiple character paths option. It makes me afraid that instead of a single epic journey, the game will have two shortened, lower quality adventures. I'm pessimistic, though. I'm just envisioning the game at its worst. haha

The trailer makes the game look awesome, and I haven't played a bad Tales game since Legendia (and Dawn of a New World...bleh). I'm definitely looking forward to Xillia.

Those new link artes are pretty cool. They make Two characters on one monster and the other on another monster. It looks like a useful tactic.. although I usually find it fun to fight standalone sometimes. Xillia seems to focus on teamwork mostly and I really hope they do put some really tough bosses so we can abuse that and think of strategy. I love Milla. She is a really cool and mysterious character and I must say she is my favorite of the bunch. The bad guy looks like the typical tales bad guy so.. it really is not anything new. Right away fro looking at Milla.. I can say she will be my favorite. This one does not have much characters. Two annoying little girls is going to suck. Since the game alters depending on whoever you take.. it is going to be amazing. I will hope for an NA/EU release. It better happen!

See Tales Of Xillia Stars In Star Driver Costumes

Tales of Graces F has Code Geass costumes. Tales of Xillia? A collaboration with Star Driver.

That’s Jude dressed as Takuto Tsunashi, the Galactic Pretty Boy. Just like other anime collaborations, Namco Bandai will sell these costumes as downloadable content. A release date and pricing information have not been announced.

Tales of Xillia is dated for September 8 in Japan.

New Version of Tales of Xillia System Trailer Now Up

toxmainbar_1.jpg

The official Tales of Xillia site updated today with a new version of the recent System trailer that was shown during Tales of Festival 2011.

We get to see more of Elise in battle, as well as a few new artes from the other characters. There's also a different Long Chat skit at the end of the trailer. In the Long Chat, Alvin and Elise (and Tipo) are commenting how the area is full of bugs, and some might get to Milla's hair. Tipo comments that it's like a cow's tail, and Milla gets annoyed, saying her "charm point" shouldn't be likened to a tail. She then says thather hair was styled by Sylph, for the spirit insisted that Milla's a girl so she should therefore style her hair. Milla comments that if she twirls around fast enough, it can also hit enemies, leaving Alvin surprised that her hair can be used for such. Sony announces new PS3 model; comes bundled with Tales of Xillia

Following retail leaks from earlier today, Sony has opened an official page for the new CECH-3000B model PlayStation 3. The new hardware will begin shipment some time this month.

The official page confirms details from the retail leak. The new model, available in Charcoal Black, will have lower power consumption at 200 watts, lower weight at 2.6kg, and will include a 320 gigabyte hard disc. Pricing is set at ¥34,980, the same as the pricing on similar current models. The included accessories remain unchanged: Dual Shock 3, power cable, AV cable and USB cable.

Namco Bandai's previously announced Tales of Xillia X Edition hardware bundle will include a 160 gigabyte version of the CECH-3000 hardware. Aside from the X Edition release, Sony has not mentioned a solo 160 gigabyte package.

The X Edition hardware bundle is due on September 8, priced at ¥37,980. The hardware includes a special PS3 system and a copy of Tales of Xillia.

Keep An Eye Out For Hidden Treasure In Tales Of Xillia

Fields and dungeons in Tales of Xillia have hidden treasures to find. Scan obscure spots like roofs and trees for sparkly search points and you’ll be rewarded with bonus items. That’s one of the ways to claim treasures in Tales of Xillia. Occasionally, players will see bags lying around with goodies too. Both contain random items, usually materials.

Raw materials can be brought to the game’s shops and used to level them up. Specific materials are not required to develop new weapons. Instead, materials are converted to points and when you earn enough points a shop grows. Exchange specific materials and you’ll be rewarded with bonus points. Building up a shop yields new items to purchase and lower prices on items already in stock. Tales of Xillia has five kinds of shops: weapon, armor, ornament, secondhand, and a restaurant.

That’s artwork for the Tales of Xillia cast above and below we have the two lead characters dressed in Tales of Phantasia costumes. First run copies include a code to download 15th anniversary costumes.

Namco Bandai will also release Star Driver costumes as downloadable content. While we have screenshots of Milla in Kaneko’s costume, we don’t have details like a release date or how much each DLC costume will cost.

Tales of Xillia comes out for PlayStation 3 on September 8.

ehhh for some reason I'm not really pleased with how the character graphics are looking... the characters look really dull and lifeless... You'd think after getting the graphics looking so good in Tales of Vesperia that the latest Tales of Game would look a little better than that :(

The landscapes look pretty good though

Namco Bandai has a special Tales of Xillia package on their Lalabit Market online shop. Packed inside a giant book, the Tales of Xillia Kyun Character Pack includes the game, a 13 month calendar, and figurines of the two main characters.

You also get two extra bodies for Jude and Milla plus an accessory. Here’s what the Tales of Xillia figurines usually look like.

Below, you can see Jude and Milla dressed in student uniforms. Jude is also wearing his accessory, a pair of glasses.

In Japan, this collector’s edition retails for 12,980 yen ($161). Play-Asia informs us they will stock a limited number of the Tales of Xillia Kyun Character Pack, primarily based on pre-orders.

New Tales of Xillia Trailer Next Week!

Sounds like we've got another marketing tool here: a teaser announcement for a trailer. A couple of months back, Namco Bandai announced the impending arrival of two new Tales of Xillia trailers. They're doing it again. Visit the Xillia official site, and you'll see notice of a July 8 release for a third tailer.

There are no details about what exactly will be shown in the trailer, but you may want to visit the official site as there is a bit of footage in the background of the notice page.

Also at the official site are new sections about two of the game's most recent gameplay reveals: Random Treasure and Shop Build.

Random Treasure are items that exist on the map, but not in treasure boxes. These are placed around the field at random, and the items themselves are also randomized.

Shop Build lets you place equipment, item and cooking shops in your guild. You can use this shop to develop new items. Shops have a level, and when this rises, you gain the ability to stock new items.
