Taking the Initiative

It's hard taking the initiative since most of the time that thing called 'laziness' gets in the way. xD
Anyways, have you ever accomplished anything in your life that you would attribute to your taking the initiative in pursuing it?

In other words, have you ever done everything in your power and helped yourself get to a goal and succeeded? (Think of it as NOT letting a goal find you; you go find that goal. )

I pushed myself as hard as possible to take the initiative in finding myself a future, be it college, work or at least something other than notrhing.

For me, it would be pushing myself through college given my parents never forced me to go. It was strongly encouraged, but never forced. Personally, I loath just sitting in a room all day and listen to someone lecture me on how much they know, rather then instruct me on what I need to know (most of the time) and I loathed High School even more. So, with that said, I really had to force myself. Now, I thank God every day that I actually pushed myself and completed my education.
