Everyone knows that the Zodiac Spear is the strongest weapon in the game, but it's combo rate is awfull. Well, somehow, Ashe just performed 2hit combos on 12 foes in a row. :|

Never seen this before, it's been a very rare thing seeing the Zodiac Spear perform any kind of combo, let only one after another after another.

Odd much?

Nope, I'm at Sochen Cave at the moment, doing the waterfall puzzle for the Koga/Iga Blade. Not reached Archades yet and haven't done the Gilgamesh hunt yet either.

Hmmm, i don't really know then, depends on your level and the level of your enemies, but i wouldn't say that a 2 hit combo is 'high' compared to what you can get whilst wearing Genji Gloves and using certain weapons. It could be just random, however 12 times in a row sounds pretty non random to me.

I'd just say that it's highly improbable. When it comes to certain things dealing with random chance (e.g. combos in this case), there's a chance (albeit a small chance) that something like this will happen. I say, good on you. =P

Yeah, 2hits is pretty poor compared to the potential of Genji Gloves and Musamune.

Just found it weird how the Zodiac Spear which has a low combo rate just combo'd on 12 foes in a row, never ever seen that before. Haven't even seen it combo on 2 foes in a row tbh.

Maybe it wasn't a glitch, it was just your lucky day because I have never gotten 2 hit combo with the zodiac spear on 12 straight enemies.

Or, you know, maybe your PlayStation 2 system has asploded and everything is going haywire.

Now for a suggest that's actually possible; as Ness has pointed out, combo rate is based on random chance (plus a few other factors like hp levels and accessories) so even getting 10 combos is possible - just so unlikely that in playing a dozen games probably would cover one of these occurances a few times. :P

Or your PS2 has violently asploded. You know, one or the other.

2 hit combos on twelve enemies in a row amasses to....a 0.003% chance. You have to take into account the random factor. If you check the mechanics guide on Gamefaqs, you'll see that a random generator affects almost everything by a small margin; its been in every PS2 FF. Other factors affect combo rate like Haste, Berserk, Critical Health etc. If you were afflicted by one of those, it doubles your rate. (Berserk multiplies this by 4)
The random factor is reset each time you load a game from your memory card. (at least, this was the way in FFX)
