Take down the ACF smilies you have. No need to take ACF's
smilies. XD If you really want smilies, I can honestly point
you to the right direction. I know quite a few people that
make smilies.

I have two options for you. A) Take down the smilies, and I
can contact people to make you smilies or... B) I will contact
vBulliten and this place will be shut down for good. Oh, don't
try to archive this thread. Because that'll tell me automatically
that you (The Staff). Do not care. (Not imposing that you
ALL don't care.)

You have a choice, either make it easier on yourself and take
them down. Or make it harder on yourself, and still try to keep
them. (And no. I'm not gonna cause drama, I just want this
done and over with.)

Sir, did you know that smilies that are posted on the web are free for use by anyone? It doesn't belong to just one specific person (Unless copyrighted) , given that there all qualified for public use. Personally, I have seen these smilies used on many forums and not just yours.

Chances are VBulletin will just laugh at you for attempting to shut down a board for....smilies.

made by the members and staff on ACF. So your point is completely
invalid. Run along now. XD

Its called plagiarism. Not FFF's to take at all. I know a couple of
members who made/is trying to make smilies for the forum. Therefore
it's completely useless to argue with me. If they're on other forums,
show me. Gimme links to the forums.

Considering you now clear up the situation. I can see your valid point. In your original post, you made it look as though the smilies were just yours because you found them. I am not a moron when it comes to law, considering I aspire to major in law. So, in turn, yes I can see where you are coming from. As for the other forums, they do exist but I remember due to browsing there and witnessing them. I am not entirely sure on the URL's.

It would've been smart to PM the administrators instead of posting a thread, though. ^_^
 
Nah, they weren't mine. I should've explained more in my first post.
I'd rather not PM the administrator. Not trying to make things harder,
I just want this done and over with and i'd rather everyone would
know of the situation. (Not to turn his members against him, more to
get this problem solved quickly and painlessly).

Thing is, this has been an issue for a while. (I do not know how
long, I apologize.) But I am a ex-staff member of ACF. (I was
permanently banned, because I requested it.) But I feel that
taking the smilies that other people made, without asking them
if it could be done wasn't the best way to go. This is the truth,
not telling you to accept it all at once.

About the URL's, don't worry too much about it. It's help enough
that you told me about that. It's very appreciated.

(Oh, you studied law? Good major to get into. Gonna be a lawyer,
I presume?)
 
One of the main admins has been notified by this, and I'm sure she is trying to sort something out.

Yes, I was a bit shocked at first, but I will speak to Darkblade about the issue when possible.
 
Didn't we already have this issue about the smilies. We took them down before so if DB put them up again maybe he got permission. Thats just my guess.

Mrs. Loz I thought you had way more posts and you were a mod?
 
I personally don't understand this. They are just smilies, who cares -_- I don't remember anyone saying THEY made it, so I don't understand how you are assuming we are "taking" them from ACF. Anyhow, I can also see your point, but perhaps Darkblade did get permission and he is allowed to use them, I mean, you might have been gone when that happened? :)

Anyway..Insanctified, no, permission has not been given. There has been a solution however. The smilies, yes, I have seen all the info etc.. they were developed, well, the "look" of them anyway, for ACF specifically. The style of them. A good few of our members asked for the smilies to be customised, so we also have more then the standard set of smilies (Basically..I mean some new ones have been added).

Yah..if you haven't guessed already..I'm from ACF.

Shion, I was a mod here yes, however, I left a while ago because..well, let's not get into that now.

Returning the smilies from ACF back here would be like asking to have FFF shut down.

Anyhow, this issue has been resolved, since I have asked Darkblade to remove them, and he will be given a new set to use. It's true that while IPB smilies are free to be distributed, the forum administrator of ACF made her smilies from scratch; they simply look like the IPB ones because they're the same size and have some of the same expressions. She has told me that she made those smilies specifically for ACF. However, the same cannot be said of the FF7 smilies, and the other smilies made by the other members of ACF, since IPB does not make smilies based off of video game characters, and the other members made smilies with their own choice of expressions. If you wish to see some smilies back, we could use the old yellow set we were using before the plagiarized set, seeing that most of you don't care about how the smilies look like.

Alternatively, we could also use a gray set similar to the "Post Icons" below the posting window.
