subscription .... how does this work?

having finally managed to log into to the game this morning (tuesday 10 september 2013), i have a question about payment ....

i am assuming that this game is, like WoW, a subscription game. however, at no time was i asked to supply a credit card for such payment. when and how does this happen?

The account will be shut off after the first "free" month if you don't set up a subscription for them. You can link it to a credit card, but I believe you can also pay for it with crysta or whatever they named their cash-for-stuff currency.
